If Flemeth did possess Morrigan I suspect we'd find out that it was more of a "synthesis" anyway. "Flemeth" actually being the first Flemeth and all her daughters hodgepodged together as one individual would certainly be one explanation for why she's so "odd".

Puts a new spin on "They are ALL Flemeth", too.

Well, we can also adress mundane intentions to the whole baby thing. Morrigan states that she has to study a creature to shapeshift into it. When you fight Flemeth she turns into a dragon and probably Morrigan knows that capacity If you can basicaly give birth to ultimately a dragon but with "extras"; mom will have a nasty surprise once she reaches you and finds out that you´re alsa capable of turning into a dragon because you have rised one.

I don't think the Godchild will be a dragon... though shapeshifting into one seems inevitable.

I'm not convinced that the Old Gods ever were *really* dragons, to be honest. I'm half expecting us to learn that the dragons were, in truth, their "prisons".

It'd be one way to explain why Dumat, Urthemiel and however many of the others are *male* deities yet flying around as High Dragons. (Another way would be ancient Tevinterfolk simply not understanding that all High Dragons were female, of course)

I'd laugh if Morrigan's whole plan backfired and by impregnating herself with the taint, she becomes a broodmother.
Then I'd go ew.
Then I'd burn her.

I'd love to see that. Or her exploding in a shower of blood and giblets as the fetus re-assumes the archdemon's/old god's natural draconic form and size. Good riddance b*tch.

Frankly, I would be pissed off to no end if the god-baby became a major plot in future DA products, because it would negate player choice in a big, bad way. If the damn thing HAS to be in, fine, have Morrigan take her chosen man by force if you turn her down. I would still be pissed since I strongly dislike the baby-plan, and Morrigan, but at least it would solve the continuity problem.

I don't like the god child plot line
personally. It seems to cheat the story of the archdemons a little bit
and waters it down.

Agreed. It just seems weird that a creature so old and powerful could be ensnared so easily. And I like heroic sacrifices, so giving a way out feels extremely cheap.

I was personally happy for the option, since some jacka** on the no spoilers forum leaked that the main hero sacrifice himself....snuck it right in a post in an unrelated topic too.  At least I got some surprise.

I got the impression, that Morrigan really did not wish to "wield" the god child, but wanted a return of at least one of the old gods. She makes it no secret, that she despises the Chantry and the Maker, and it seems this is her and Flemeth's strategy to bring back some balance.

I kind of see it as a comparison, as the druids, or other "pagan" religions of Old Europe trying to resist the spread of Christianity.

I do not think Morrigan's ego is so swelled, that she thinks she will actually be in control of the new, Old God, when he matures. However, she will be in position to be the #1 high priestess of this god. And I think that would be enough power, to satisfy even her.

That's how I see it as well.  I don't think Morrigan is evil, not even close.

agreed, she is manipulative and pragmatic, but not evil by a long way.

A lot of folks reference Morrigans child and the next edition of DA.  The thing is you can clearly tell her no - so for players doing that option - her child could not be their sequel..  So it is hard to read much of what is to come into any choices we made and a next game as we had many options and different outcomes.. Otherwise how can they tie it all together with you being dead or alive, purge the mage tower or save it, kill the Dalish or help them... A lot of things would have to factor in one way or another is all..Image IPB

Some players endings are just going to have to become non-canon.  It happened between BG1 and 2 and it will happen here as well.
