I agree that dress is inappropriate for pretty much anything in Shepard's life at that time.

I would personally put her in a military skirt, blouse and have a removable beret (French).

Women only wear military skirts as part of a dress uniform in a formal setting.  How deeply rooted are your gender roles exactly?

I'm suddenly reminded of Jack's alternate look. It's a little weird, they got it right once, why take two steps back now?

You think all military women only wear skirts for formal settings?  That's liberal over-exaggeration.

The military runs on regulation. It's only used in a formal setting. The rest of military issued clothing for everyday use is pants. You know nothing of the military, do you?

Shepard finally got tired of Kasumi talking about Jacob's abs and he finally went to the gym. It's also where we recruit Vega.

1) What does the today's military have to do with a game set 2-300 years in the future?

2) Are you seriously saying that a woman working in the military cannot wear a skirt at home or going shopping if she wants?

1) The protagonist is in the employ of the Navy.

2) If there's a mode in the game where she's shopping or at home, go nuts. It's not the context of the game or the story as a whole. There's no room for it.

You might want to leave your misogyny out of this one, there's no room for it.

Apologies, it's simply too tempting when someone proudly displays their ignorance.

1) does it make sense that women 2-300 years in the future still wear high heels and skirts--but the men can't?

2) I think she has more of a problem with your suggestions that FemShep needs a skirt in the first place. . .that's just my opinion though. . .

Never gets old.

I particularly love the fact that Bioware didn't him sickeningly "Buff."  His shoulders and neck are still human looking, his legs are muscular but not kagaroo-ish, his chest is pronounced but not inflated, strong arms and abs without going with the cliché "Six pack."

He looks like a soldier, kept in shape by fighting and working out to keep fighting. Not some steroid-sculpted Mr. Universe.

If there's casual clothing, then where's the formal clothing??!!

If high heels and a dress is casual, I assume that this is formal.

I found a similar leather jacket that had the red and white stripes on the arms like the N7 armor.  I almost bought it just so I could so I could sew an N7 patch on it.

1) A fictional navy set 2-300 years in the future.  Even real life navies regulations have changed vastly over the past hundred years, so to say it's like this in the (probably US) Navy today so it must be like that in this fictional game is pointless.

2) I am the furtherest thing away from misogynistic as you could get.  I respect and value the female of the species more than my own kind.  If I was an Indian I would probably be called Valuer of Women Folk.

That damned frost troll. You know the one. Lydia and I schooled it my first time up the mountain...then a dragon swooped down and knocked us off a cliff.

...And then Lydia was a zombie.

If they wanted to give FemShep a formal dress, and conversely ManShep a more formal outsit, then they should have done.

But to have a ManShep casual outfit as comfy t-shirt, leather jacket and jeans. And then have a FemShep casual outfit as a leather dress, heels and large metal necklace is ridiculous.

Nobody relaxes like that. Very very few women dress like that on a regular basis, for everyday occasions. It's absurd when the leather jacket is a totally unisex item, there was no need to create a leather dress.
