If femshep being shown as a physically strong woman who other women look up to, but then is shown with defined bones and little muscle, how am I supposed to recieve that?

I and many of my friends who enjoy watching me play have eating disorders. Because there is an almost nude model in the game depicting a body that is triggering to people with eating disorders in it, I am unable to show parts of the game to my friends and I an unable to enjoy parts. That is abliesm just as much as having homophoic material in a video game woud be homophobic or having racist material in a video game be racist.

If they are aware they have a body model that is triggering for people with ED, that is. I'm sure they are not aware of this, seeing as most people don't think about that kind of stuff when making things.

That is no more Bioware/EA's fault than Columbine is Marolyn Manson's

But a skinny military female? OVER THE LINE.

Suspension of disbelief can only go so far. She's almost anorexic.

Hey its over the top all female sex smurf ladys and the girl who looks a little thin is the thing that ruins your suspension of disbelief :P

Just goes to show just how disturbingly skinny Fem Shep is. But hey that's what BW thinks is attractive, so let's not criticize themImage IPB.

No it just shows that people are willing to suspend their disbelief for anything except for a slightly unnatractive body on a MILITARY woman. (fixed)

On a Military woman yes. Sorry I'm not a big fan of her new look, considering she looked like a real military woman in the first two games--then they sexed her up for ME3.

In which case I just say: ok f*ck it. I don't care, since they are not ideal, but just make them both look like what they represent atleast! Male shep looks like a soldier, no problem there, female shep doesn't, problem here.

She has womanly features that make her less appealing.
Everyone can accept a Prothean not being important to the story.
Everyone can accept giant squid robots from before time was concieved trying to destroy all life in the galaxy.
But they cant accept a female lead not looking perfect.

By your logic it should, as "everything is fine"

And there is no logic to what the player is seeing all the time in mass effect. Mass relays are in no way beliveeable nor are biotics, nor are the laser guns and black whole generatos shepard carriers around.

Which are fantastical sci-fi space magic items and effects. All of us KNOW that a woman that looks like that could never run around punching yahg's in the face and firing 50 pound shotguns. I've never seen a black hole gun. I understand that it's scientifically impossible, but the nature of their universe is thus that I can suspend disbelief for that.

Why do you think people hated Yoda fighting in the prequels (except prepubescent boys)? It's because it looked ridiculous. Lightsabers are impossible, jedi's are impossible, we all know that. But when the little green guy that used his mind to overcome physical limitations starts to jump around like a cricket on crack, it shatters your immersion completely. Seeing the semi-nude body model for femshep tainted my view of the character.  It can't be unseen. And so, I can only shake my head and roll my eyes now.

In all stories with humans, it's essential to get them right. The laws of the human body that we all perceive and understand on a daily basis need to be adhered to imo as it's one of the most fundamental and basic conceptualizations we have. Big guy = strong, shrimpy guy = weak.. etc. It's a primitive response mechanism.

Chicks like these I could see holding their own in combat.

Really, it's Bioware's decision whether or not it's their fault and they should do anything about it.  If they see our posts and decide it's an issue, they very easily can patch the game, changing the model.  If there's an uproar after the game is released and more people want them to change it, then again, it's not impossible for them to make changes.

Personally, I don't like it, and if it's triggering people already, that's not a good sign.

Really you don't think the new FemShep looks intentionally sexy compared to the old one?

The old FemShep didn't have as many cosmetic facial features for one (bangs, freckles, pouty lips)

But hey we obviously have different definitions of "intentionally sexy" You're free to think whatever you want. All I'm saying is that the changes BW made to her are unacceptable to me. . .it's not that I hate change, but when changes are bad I take notice.

People get set-off by stupid stuff all the time here, out of all of the reasons one may want FemShep to look a bit tougher, this "think of the children!" crap has got to be the worst.

Meh. Not surprising that Femshep isn't as muscular as she should be. Looks like they are just reusing the same female models and textures for all (human and asari) female characters. So femshep gets the same body as some asari stripper cause of reuse. Not the first game to do this. Wont be the last. Skyrims reuse of the same female body across all characters was horrid. You'd get some 70yo woman with the body of a 20yo. ARGH!

I'm just going to go ahead and say it: nope.

Especially since BioWare's intention was to make her conventionally attractive (dress, arse window, and all). It's just a case of a horrid swing and miss.

I have said the current body models are fine, i was never referring to mutant dwarves.

"All of us know that a woman like that could never run around punching a yagh in the face"
Nor could male shep, they yagh probaly weighed atleast a 1000 pounds, in a real fight any shepard would have got destroyed.
and again Bioware has already broken many basic laws of nature in the ME universe, even ones we understand on a daily basis. Like gravity.

Why doesn't he have a simple shirt/tie/jacket?

A cool hat would be nice too:

Maybe something like the illusive man's suit? I'd not mind a dressier set of outfits that aren't formal military clothing, but I wouldn't want all our options to be variations on that theme.
