Awesome.

I agree, having some of the Origin story characters come along would have been fun.

Doesn't Human Nobles already get to keep dog, though? Even saves then from having to do a sidequest to get him instead.
Well, unless you mean you want to drag your mother along....

If you could get Gorim you could have one badass Dwarven party including Shale.

The interaction between Gorim and the Dwarf Noble was incredibly awesome. I agree with the poster that said we need a Gorim as a playable character DLC. Throughout the entire Dwarf Noble Origin, it was very clear that these two were best of buds (I played a male noble), so it's a shame to not be able to recruit him.

Totally, I felt closer to Gorim on a Dwarf Noble than any other companion. It was so touching at the end when they made their final goodbyes. At the very -least- you should be able to bring Gorim back to your camp as a merchant.

I'll also add that when I found out he had a family, I was 'ok' with not being able to recruit him. Seeing as how he was my best bud, I didn't want to put him into any kind of danger when he has a family to look after.

Regardless, he's a cripple. He'd have to be on crutches.

Hmm, crutches with blades on them ? pikes?

I do wish we could have taken him along. Especially the female dwarf noble he makes a much more suitable love interest for her than Alistair or *gasp* Zevran. I mean a dwarf and an elf hooking up? Blasphemy.

I was heartbroken that the game didn't let me take Gorim as a party member, I honestly found, in those short two hours of the dwarf noble origin, that I prefered him to any of the other companions in the game.

Not that any of the other companions are BAD. Just that Gorim is such a fantastic character.

Yes, agreed. I do love Wynne, am fond of Dog, Leliana and Alistair, and can find at least something likeable (though not much, in Morrigan's case) in the rest -- but Gorim and he PC have such an awesome dynamic and history together. I'd much prefer travelling with proven friends instead of random strangers, which is why each origin having one loyal early companion to rely on would have been great. Not origin-exclusive, but like the human noble with Dog, just getting them earlier than the rest. Gorim would have been a perfect choice.

He also isn't the typical drunken comic relief and/or crude killer dwarf, which is refreshing and more in line with a medium-upper class dwarf in this setting.

It would have been quite easy to write him into the plot, too. He knows about the Grey Wardens and about the battles in the south, after all, so he could have tried to catch up with or wait for them on the way, or maybe make an appearance in Lothering after Ostagar.

I want my buddy Gorim!

You sure you don't just want Gorim so you don't have to speak directly to them.

"Gorim, tell this tree dwarves don't search for lost acorns."

Ok I have to admit that would be pretty cool... I want him now too.

Bwahaha...Oh how I'd love that.

Dear brother dwarves, one question: as I redeemed many items through my
collector's edition, what happened to them after the introduction
chapter of the noble dwarf origin?

As I was sent naked in the
Deep Roads, everything I had but for a sword and a shield was taken
from me... Possible that these codes worked only for that introduction
chapter?? Please help and Glory to the real Aeducan!

While being completely off topic this is so neatly roleplayed that i feel it deserves a honest answer;)

Save the game after being cast into the deep roads (might as well be far later), go to the main menu, force disable any lost DLC, safe for Shale & Wardens Keep (by simply unchecking the boxes), load & save again, back to main menu, enable DLC, enjoy.
Might give you an error message, just ignore it, it should work.

You will, very sadly, lose your Memory Ring, though, oh dwarven friend. All other items, though, can be gotten back by just turning them off, making a save, then turning them back on.

And Gorim really should have been a constant companion. I've done all the origins but Dalish Elf so far, and while I liked Soris and Ser Whatshisface and Lily and Leske and whoever, the only companions who stood out were Gorim and Jowan (and Jowan mostly because he had a part to play later, honestly). Gorim was awesome. And yeah, 'Gorim, why is this 'Anora' person attempting to address me?' would rule.

As would rekindling that romance. Screw Morg/Ali/Lei/Zev (by all means, even), he was my characters one true love. >.>

So there's no way to rekindle the romance with the main char?  Not even in some end game text?

I'm asking cause I'm planning to play a female dwarven noble on my next playthrough...

Let's say, the two can go back to Orzammar again... together... he says he'll be her second again, just like the old days. Not specifically the "sweeping with the magic broom" part, but I take that as a "Yes! GOOORIIIIIM!". He doesn't mention his wife AT ALL...

What I love about Gorim is he has just the right balance of honour and absolute loyalty to his lord/lady.. well especially his lady.

He's just and always wishes the best for you, but won't think twice about having some annoying pest of a minor noble killed for wasting your time. And the whole "Gorim, why is this person speaking to me?" is a riot. If that were extended to later encounters it'd be brilliant.

Plus he's just the best looking dwarf ever. Those lugnuts in the Assembly *wish* they looked half as dapper as Gorim.

She can live in the palace as long as they keep it on a platonic level =].

As a dude, I want Gorim as advisor and Leske to be promoted to Gorim. That would be awesome.

What does she need to live in the palace and keep it to a platonic level? She's a god damn paragon. She found her own house and can make Gorim a noble. As paragon she can do whatever she wants!

I agree with the "Gorim is the best romance in the game" sentiment. Sad, but very, very true. If a modder will mod Gorim into your party and erase the nonsensical 'broken leg and married' argument, I will shower them with silver.

Yes, I'm very fond of him too. At the point when Bhelen and the rest showed up to accuse me of kinslaying, I really didn't expect Gorim to stand by my side. Hell I thought Bhelen bought him too! And there you go, this guy stands with you when you're deprived of title, power and even a name. He stands with you when the whole Orzammar is against you. How glad was I to see him living such a contented life in Denerim.

Well at least you all got to enjoy Gorim's goodbyes - because Bioware released a patch cutting out whole dialogs from Gorim. He no longer says that he'll meet ya in Denerim - been totally cut out. Then when you do meet him in Denerim, he acts like he doesn't even know you. MAJOR disappointment to say the least. Worse I think than he telling ya that he threw out his back and can't fight anymore.
So basically instead of Bioware listening to their customers, they just eliminated the whole issue completely by just cutting it all out.

Incidentally bioware did this too with the human origins story. Originally when you first meet the king, you could tell him how Howe betrayed your family and killed your father. But now that's all be cut out as well. So the first meet of the king is now pretty drab and boring. Nothing unique like it once was.

I really liked Gorim for the dwarf noble origin story, and loosing him ruined the dwarf noble origin for me. It is much like reading a book where they hook you with a certain character dynamic, then get rid of that dynamic; you stop reading the story. It was just such a disappointment after having a great origin story with Gorim, to have nothing more than him being a merchant.

If they could make it possible for him to join the party, I would buy a DLC with it. Even if he would replace another character, to me he is worth it. There is an attachment between the PC and him that is rarely achieved in games and stories that adds alot to the game.

Really?  That's too bad.  That is one of the nice little touches in the game.  Gorim was one of my fav side characters in the game.

Sounds like you have some mods that's messing dialogues up. Those you mentioned works fine for me.
