Sounds like you have some mods that's messing dialogues up. Those you mentioned works fine for me.

Yeah ditto they work fine for me as well. :)

Have you tried the dwarf noble story lately?

Or the human noble?

Because I can't believe it was just mods - I only had one mod at the time. It allows your characters to start the game without any pre-picked talents & skills (you get a clean slate to pick the powers you want). Though I did have all the available DLC - but I know that couldn't be it because I've played both the dwarf & human noble lines multiple times (how I learned of the changes).

Thanks

I just started a new Dwarf Noble yesterday and all the old conversations where there. Even got to call Gorim a jerk for getting married.

I've got the patches and both origin stories are still intact for me. I'm not sure what's interfering with them for you.

Gorim, is this Anora person talking to me?

Gorim, tell Loghain he needs to die for his crimes.

rofl! Gorim is amazin'! He'd be overpowered for sure. They had to cripple him or the game would be too easy.

Your starting skills and talents are determined by your race and origin, so, one way to reset what you start with is to override your race & origin picks.
Prime example of bad modding.

Gorim, Gorim. At first I was going to play my Dwarf Noble lady in a harsh way. Arrogant, mean to people. But had a warriors pride. The first few things she said to Gorim were kinda mean. Then I got to know him. And he was awesome. And my dwarven lady talked through him, and I had a grand time.

I wanted to go to Denerim to get him so bad. So I looked it up to see if he was a companion, and he was not. Biggest disappointment of the game. :(

Gorim was my favorite as well. If Gorim made it to Ostagar you know he would have called out Jory for being the spineless tool he was. I'm willing to bet Gorim wasn't allowed to go their because they would have no choice but for Gorim to slay Jory in the wilds.

Other fun conversations...

Alistair says his first stupid joke about the blight bringing folks together

Dwarf Noble "Gorim, why is this human speaking to me?"

Gorim, "He may be Alistair my lord, but if he isn't shall I have him killed?"

As you can see he would be full of win (not WYNNE)!

Ideal party; Dwarf Noble (rogue), Gorim, Oghren, and Shale. Maybe they should make a flash game ala Journeys just for this fantasy! :)

I have to completely agree: Gorim is definitely one of he best characters in Dragon Age, and I can't tell how much I'd have loved to have him as a party member.

Really, I *hate* (rather: hated, see below) dwarves. Always have. I hate Oghren, I hated Khelgar...

Then I read this thread where everybody said that the dwarven nobel origin was just awesome, and I thought I might go and see for myself. First I played as a male noble, and I still hated dwarves (I felt like: "what is not to hate about them?" despicable caste system, sexual exploitation, over-emphasizing honour...); I couldn't even go through the whole noble origin.

But then I thought I might give it another chance, starting a female dwarf. And the moment I met Gorim (again), I completely fell for him. Love on first (female) sight. ^^

I really loved how the Gorim-romance was woven into the origin story; I felt it was heart-touching and natural. I was caught up with it, even though or perhaps because it was so forbidden-love cliché-like. Especially the prison scene when they have to part really got to me...

But what fascinated me most: I think this changed my opinion on dwarves. For one, I think I disliked them because I always felt they were quite ugly. Well Gorim isn't xD (I know that's rather a pathetic reason to dislike a whole species).

But now I'm really considering to go on playing my lovely little dwarven noblewoman. Just to see her get paragon and return to Orzammar with her second.

What I hated though: Gorim got married? I was like "WTF?!? You promised to always love me when we parted, and now it can't have been much over a year and you're already married with a baby on the way?!?"

But he's my Lady Aeducan's love of her life. Screw you Alistair, Zevran, Leliana. Screw you. Lady Aeducan will take back her Gorim no matter what. (And here I was an Alistair fangirl just before playing the dwarven noble origin, determined to always stay true to Alistair)

All I can say: I'm so. very. awed. at what Bioware did. They know how to get to people's emotions...

The Dwarf Noble's Second,

The Elven Alienage's bethrothed,

Tamlin...

All of them should be companions with romance options imho.

Though the human noble's mother as a companion would be awesome.

Dwarf Noble: Gorim, why are these people ranting about you?

Gorim:  I don't know my Leige.  Dost thou wish me to remove each of their pecking fingers? Posted Image

I agree! I was so upset when I got to Denerim and he told me he was married... I've played through twice already and finished two other origins and figured I'd just do the dwarven origin and got totally hooked again. I knew better, but I was really hoping to be able bring him into the story somehow.

It's fascinating (and a little creepy, in my opinion) who quickly you can get ensnared in a story, even though it's so very short! With the dwarven origin, it really works just... incredibly well.

And I do know the irrationality you are speaking of. I haven't managed to get past Ostargar yet, and already got spoilered by reading what will happen when you encounter Gorim in Denerim. Still I have to go to Denerim myself, for I won't *believe* until I've actually heard him say it. I still have the "goodbye scence" so fresh in mind. Veeeery irrational. Just proves how much the game got me hooked...

Oh and even though it's a little off  topic: Tamlen, yes Tamlen, I definitely wanted him to join my party, too. Hated to leave these ruins without finding him, and even though the Daelish origin in general is far too short, the whole "at least let me attend Tamlen's funeral" response to Duncan and the subsequent goodbyes to your clan got to me...
