Just curious. If you could save the batarians, quarians and/or geth from destruction by the Reapers or others, would you? Also, why or why not?

Personally, I'd save the quarians and the geth if possible, and leave the batarians to die. Why? The quarians and the geth, despite whatever happened, have shown they can be an asset to the galaxy. The batarians however, are about all like a small child crying about something they couldn't get, and then start rampaging and start killing people over it - which btw, isn't or at least shouldn't be what a small child could/should do in such an situation...

I would save the Batarians and then join them in a great crusade to cleanse the galaxy of all pathetic aliens that are not Batarians. Yeah that would be so awesome, four eyes for everybody, untz untz untz.

I'd save them all, mostly cause thats how being Paragon works, but also because I like both the quarians and geth, and all batarians we have encountered are basically criminals. The law-abiding batarians dont leave the homeworld, so we never meet any of them.

The Quarians are can take any kindn of technology and make it useful and the Geth has a fleet of their own. Not to mention Legion is with them and Tali is with the Quarians.

Bartarians, I don't know how useful they would be or what they could contribute after the events that took place in the Arrival DLC. I figured they'd want to kill me and humanity because of the 300,000 lives lost. The Reapers might Indoctirnate them as well. It'd be risky just talking to one besides trying to negotiate with them.

If I can save any of the races, I'd do so. I don't hate the Batarians in the slightest - in fact a few of them seemed pretty cool. On a whole, they have beliefs that I don't particularly care for, such as slavery being an integral part of their culture, but it's Bioware - I'm sure some Batarian is going to come along who can convince them otherwise, and you have the chance to help spread his message, or kill him. Nah, the Batarians are cool in my book.

I'd have a hard time wanting to save the Batarians. Why? Primarily because of the fact that slavery is a central part of their culture (plus, a Batarian pirate raid killed my Shepard's family). Still, I'd probably save them, since my Shepard *is* a paragon. I'd still grumble about it, though.

Batarians? No. I'll let them be Reaper chow and buy the rest of the galaxy time.
Quarians? Lol no. I'll do the same to them as I would the batarians.
Geth? Maybe.

Batarians no. They are the most one-dimensional race in the game...

Quarians and Geth sure. Quarians are like Russian cyborg space gypsies and that's cool enough in my book, and Geth are a little archetypal but interesting.

It's a hard call. I'd have to decide then. See, on one hand, there's my own personal opinion about each race. But then there's my main Shepard, who sometimes sees things differently from me. For instance, in ME1, I would've let the rachni queen go. He didn't. He saw them as too much of a potential threat (he wouldn't ever want to cure the krogan genophage for a similar reason).

The batarians, in ME1 and ME2, feel like small time annoyances. They don't feel worth killing. However, it depends on the context of what's going on at the time. Do I have to choose saving the batarians, who are out to kill me probably because of Arrival, or do I have to choose saving the turians, who have a pretty strong military and could help me fight the Reapers? I personally would have a hard time choosing if it were me because I don't want to kill anyone. My Shep? He sees it as an easy answer, and would not feel bad whatsoever to kill the batarians to save the turians if an example like that were to happen.

That's a very good point on the Batarian part, but I don't know if I would. They still take slaves and might continue to do so after this war.

Might be better to let the Reapers fix our problems for us so we can take the Attican Traverse without anymore resistance.

Allowing the Reapers to destroy the Batarians would likely also result in the death of all their slaves too, however, and it isnt the slaves' fault that they are slaves.

Hell. Yes. Quarians and Geth.
As for the Batarians, I would really like for there to be some peace, too.

Uh, what is the cost of doing these things?

Because if all of these actions are costless, then of course I'd save them all.

Geth... Sure, they are strong, they'll make my clan stronger.
Batarians... Maybe, if they stop crying for the Torfan raid.
Quarians... Are you joking? Why would I want to save a bunch of cowards, traitors, envious, weak, racist, criminals, annoying, stubborn and resentful dudes like those? If I can, I will wipe them all from the galaxy.

Depends on what Shepard I'm playing with.

Out of my four, two would definitely try to save all of them (Spacer and Colonist #1), one would at least try to save the Quarians and the Batarians, but feel conflicted about the Geth (Earthborn), and one would save the Quarians and Geth, but shamelessly and guiltlessly leave the Batarians to die (Colonist #2).

Myself, I'd try and save all of them. No race deserves extinction.

I'd save the Quarians for Tali alone, The Geth I would also save but not at the expense of the Turians, Could care less about the Batarians.

death would be better than the hell they're living now. Besides how else would we free them? The Batarians aren't just going to give them up cuz we ask

I doubt that can happen since both races would still want the Traverse.

I would save all of them if I could. Disliking the few members of a race/species you come into contact with does not justify genocide.

As it was a central part of our "civilized" culture for over 2000 years, you would not have had the lovely sights of the pyramids and sphynx without it.

I suppose your right but I'm not talking about genocide. I'm talking about letting the Reapers hit them hard enough so they're in no position to oppose us after this war.
