If you could save the batarians/quarians/geth, would you?

I'd have a hard time wanting to save the Batarians. Why? Primarily because of the fact that slavery is a central part of their culture (plus, a Batarian pirate raid killed my Shepard's family). Still, I'd probably save them, since my Shepard *is* a paragon. I'd still grumble about it, though.

I said I'd save the Batarians anyway, so there. Oh, and for a space-faring civilization not to know or care that slavery is wrong, is, well, preposterous. From a human viewpoint, at any rate. I obviously can't speak for any of Batarians who might be reading this thread.
Switching over to the real world, there is some belief in archaelogy circles that slave labor was *not* used in the construction of the Pyramids (the Sphinx might predate them, so that's another topic entirely), or, at the very least, wasn't a central component of the labor force.
From what I've read (as a generalist, not a specialist) in various magazines (including National Geographic), there's a school of thought that Egyptian citizens (not slaves) were critical in the Pyramids' construction. They did so as artisans and farmers (the latter to feed the laborers), and because the pharoah was viewed as a god by the common people.
I don't know if that school of thought is widespread, though, and I'm merely reporting it, not necessarily believing it myself.

The Geth have one hell of an army and navy. That much additional firepower will be welcome. The Quarians bring technical and logistical talents to the table, not mention their highly skilled marines. The Batarians are pros at hit and run raids (hard won experience earned through piracy and slave raids) and fighting dirty. All of these assets would be welcome to the war effort.

Marsh, Anto, the sick batarian from the Gozu District, and the group of batarians threatening Daniel elsewhere in Gozu all seemed pretty normal to me.Bungie.Net Sucks wrote...

Marsh and Anto were thugs
The Sick Batarian was a victim of propoganda everyone in Gozu believed
The Batarian group was desperate and believed that Daniel was spreading lethal disease
Not exactly normal circumstances

Marsh was objectively not a thug; he ran a shop in the Omega markets.Bungie.Net Sucks wrote...

Anyway, my point was that you encounter the aforementioned "normal" batarians and they don't act like total dickweeds. You know, backing you up.

The geth I am on the fence about. On one hand they are perhaps more useful than the quarians, but could be controlled more easily ala the heretics even though we've supposedly only seen one "true geth" Legion. If it come to an either or situation but I will take the side of the quarians in most playthroughs. I hope there is a both sides win option.

The Batarians, I'd have them sent into some DMZ along with Cerberus war criminals.

Same as Quarian.
And the Geth? We could further move towards a singularity.

As far as the Batarians go, sure, why not. As much as their representation has tended to lean that way, I can't believe their entire species are jackasses.

Are you sure about the cute part? Grunt says the quarians are not so soft which means they might have some type of hard skin/ shell unless he meant the suit which would not appear to be the case since humans in combat are usually armored as well.razgriz21 wrote...
I'd save the Quarians (the female ones are so cute) and basically turn the Geth into toasters and music players.
