They are ugly as sin.

I heard that the women have the bodies of super models. Just cover the head with a paper bag and you're good to go!

One species super models is another species nightmares.

They're a race of conniving, bellicose slave-traders for the most part, so I don't really like them to be honest.

No ive loved the Batarians sense bring down the sky and have hoped for a squad mate but knew it would never happen sadly... Bioware is too busy bringing back the worst NPC's from either mass effect (ashley or kaidan) to introduce a new interesting squad member (jersey shore and collector boy are not interesting)

I don't think a 'nice' batarian exists, they are quite similar to NK with the amount of brainwashing going on.

I'm not too terribly fond of a race that demands the right to enslave other species.

They are an interesting race. They ahve been painted as the bad guys purely by the few we've met in the game. As a race they might be like humans having sainst and sinners and most inbetween those extremes.

I don't hate/like batarians. Even with this game, I still see everyone as individuals rather than a whole race. There's nice batarians and mean batarians. Same goes for all the other races.

That is their leadership. We have no way of knowing whether the average citizen supports this. Many real life countries had such policies inplace in fact some continue it to this day. It took awhile and much upheaval to get the abolishment of slavery.

Quick question then you must also hate the asari because of their indentured servitude right?

Nope, just refer to my avatar and sig. Honestly I'm still holding on to a glimmer of hope that there'll be a Batarian DLC squad mate.

So because they have "cool ass looking voices" that redeems them for being slavers, drug dealers, criminals... Oh and trying to recreate 911 in the mass effect universe"

But they tried to kill humans not their own people...

I hope bioware realizes the limitless potential such a unique squad mate could bring to the story. Screw prothy. Kind of think of it in the situation when you bring lets say Legion . Do you trust him? And in the end you up trusting the individual because you end up sharing cultural differences. Like how you view slavery and how he views it.

They're Mass Effect's Romulans with an extra pair of eyes. And who likes Romulans?

I'm sure there are nice batarians though... I think they just don't travel offworld.

I like Batarians a lot(and not in a cuddly way!), they don't BS about what they are, not surprising however because it's "their" culture; of course we humans quickly and conveniently forget our own past and then proceed to condemn others.

It seems people who are saying "they're all slavers and nothing more" are forgetting the fact that one of the members of Garrus' crew on Omega was a Batarian that "could hack anything". Debunks that idiotic theory that all Batarians are bad guys. So does the fact that the Batarians holding up Mordin's assistant were merely hostile because he had a vial of stuff they thought was more of the plague that only Humans (and Vorcha) were immune to. Then seemed legitimately grateful if they were allowed to leave, saying "Didn't know human nobility existed" in a 'happy to be proven wrong' tone.
