So I'm curious. How many straight guys are going to try a gay romance option (and you cant cheat by engaging in lesbian/asari one).
Also if you are/arent why (or why not), curiosity, completionism etc etc
Also I dont know who the gay options are so no spoilers please
To straight male gamers

Well, yes. It's a video game. But you aren't the one having sex.
Many people play Shepard as "themselves" in some form or another.
So doing a romance could be like putting your self-interest into that situation.
Bottomline, as long as people treat homosexuals, heterosexuals, bisexuals, what have you - with dignity and respect, I don't think it should matter if they feel awkward or grossed out sometimes.
Electing not to play a S/S romance in a video game hurts absolutely no one, too.

Well... I wasn't talking about the game, but yes I agree with your post.

Essentially, I'm not averse to homosexuality, there's just no opening I can fit it into.

With a little work and patience you could fit it in to your tight schedule.

As a fairly straight dude (as far as me, my wife, and two kids know anyways), if I found out that Kaidan was 'bi' or 'hero-sexual' for ME3 (I have no idea if he will be, but it would make total sense if he 'came out'), I would totally romance him with my die-hard Paragon DudeShep. Those longing looks across his terminal in the SR1, telling me on Horizon that losing me was like losing a limb... yeah. It's just begging to be role played.
As for s/s with anyone else, most likely not; I only have gay eyes for Kaidan.
I think you'll find ME3 interesting.

Not sure what the options are for same sex romances but I might try it on a new game with no import somewhere down the road to see how similar/different it is compared to hetero.

Eloquently stated, and sums up my thoughts on the matter.
I'm a straight male, I have many interests. Such a scenario, whether real or in pixel form, is not one of them. Not even remotely. But I live, and I let live.
And even if my allegiance was flexible, come on. Some of the female Mass Effect interests presented are fetching. It would take a real buffet of manliness to win me over.

And to be honest I prefer there to be one party to a relationship I find attractive, so I'm unlikely to create a male shep just for a gay romance.

I really, really didn't like how forward Liara was because I almost invariably had no interest even when I played as a Mshep so this isn't really about ****** vs. hetero. I just don't enjoy those situations where I have to turn someone down like that.
If it's something I have to initiate then I guess I don't really care that much (even with Garrus...) so long as there isn't anything suggestive leading up to it (like Tali).

For all intents and purposes she IS Jessica Chobot. Looks like and is voiced by Jessica Chobot.
The only thing different is the name. And I guess some of the character (but not the profession).

The fact that "men" find lesbian sex to be attractive is for the same reason "men" found gay sex gross. And it's a silly thing
It's not a silly thing.
It's perfectly reasonable.
Heterosexual men are attracted to women, regardless of whether they are heterosexual or homosexual.
Heterosexual men are not attracted to men, regardless of whether they are heterosexual or homosexual.
We're attracted to their bodies, not their sexuality.
Thus men will often like lesbian porn and hate gay porn.

Sadly, what options seem to have been put forward don't interest me in the least. And that applies to both male and female Shepard.
P.S
Oh, and to the guys in this thread waxing nonsense on their narrow perception of normative sexuality? Just stop. You're embarrassing yourselves.
