That said, should there be a possible female character up for a s/s romance that doesn't feel like she's only been created for "look here teenage boys,we have lesbians" then I could see me making a new single Shepard for that romance...

As a fairly straight dude (as far as me, my wife, and two kids know anyways), if I found out that Kaidan was 'bi' or 'hero-sexual' for ME3 (I have no idea if he will be, but it would make total sense if he 'came out'), I would totally romance him with my die-hard Paragon DudeShep. Those longing looks across his terminal in the SR1, telling me on Horizon that losing me was like losing a limb... yeah. It's just begging to be role played.
As for s/s with anyone else, most likely not; I only have gay eyes for Kaidan.
Fabulous answer from that guy, too funny!
As far as the LI topic, I'm a straight female and Garrus is the only one who has interested me.

Awesome post, and I agree. I never really got into the Femshep/Kaidan romance. For some reason it just seems to work better with Manshep. Might have to end up making one for Kaidan.Rane7685 wrote...

heh. I'm completely oposite. it seems to fit very nicely with femshep in my eyes and completely off with maleshep. the only femshep romance I finished more then once in fact. /shrug. the only way I'm doing m/m romance with Kaidan is on a bet. "spoiler" character though is someone I was going to totaly go for, and might still go for.. maybe. but there's just something about maleshep in general that doesn't work for me. and I cannot put my finger on it. its not the voice, Meer is fine.

I'm not at all interested in m/m romances, personally, although I'm glad that others will have them. So, even though some of my favorite female romanceable characters would be accessible if I played a dude, I'd rather just have a friendship with the character on my female Shepard.

I've been playing ME1. It's hard for me to think Kaidan would work better with male Shepard considering the sheer amount male Shepard doesn't get - even outside of any romance. It's hard to see any special chemistry when there's so many things unsaid. But that's just my opinion.

Two of my Shepards are committed to Garrus - one went with Kaidan first, so we'll see how that plot line goes.
One Shepard is committed to Kaidan.
My one BroShep fell head over heels for Tali.
Two others are single.
Now with one of these two, she was made specifically for Joker; I can't see her with anyone else. I will probably delete her if there is no romance with the ornery pilot.
The second I kind of want with Zaeed, but this development is a doubtful one. However, when I first made her I just sensed she was bi. Sometimes a character takes on a will of their own; if she likes the ladies too I won't stop her. She killed Shiala and Rana so...she will most likely go for Liara, unless some other s/s or heterosexual options show up in ME3 who spark her interest.

I'm the exact same way. Can't play FemShep because I don't like Hale's voice.

I almost exclusively play FemShep, and most of them are with Kaidan and Garrus, but I do have a single FemShep set aside for some s/s lovin' in ME3. I'm not a big fan of Liara (or asari in general), so I haven't been able to do a proper s/s relationship before ME3. I do have 2 ManSheps who are in het relationships, but one of them is mostly for experimenting anyway, so he may try out the male s/s stuff in ME3.

but unlike a lot of people here, I decide on LI and then tailor a character to fit with them, rather then create a character and then figure out their LI. which allows me to play my preferred orientation majority of the time, unless superseded by desire to play preferred gender (like with femshep. didn't have the same issue with male warden or male hawke or male versions of swtor characters :/).

I do have a FemShep for Liara, but I don't actually love her. Liara ranks low on my list of squadmates, but I wanted a lesbian Shep and there aren't exactly many options... I made a single FemShep for whoever the most appealing f/f option in ME3 is, though.
Buuuuut I still love Garrus the most so m/f is fine this once

The problem with being bi is that I can never join in any of these discussions.
Why not?
You kinda remind me on my ex. She was bi too, She even had your sense of humor.
Good times, good times ...
My problem with being straight is, I can never join the female gamers discussion - I'm male.
