Action Mode Romance?

Matriarch Aethyta. No reference to ever meeting before. Shep asks what a matriarch is doing working in a bar:
Aethyta: "Serving drinks. *facetiously* Sometimes I put peanuts in the bowls"
Shep: "I don't think so, you're watching Liara"
Then she just offers up that she's Liara's dad without being prompted and we still get to push Liara towards Aethyta and all that dialogue. This is the bit I'm not sure on. In my RPG play through Liara says about Benezia's indoctrination "She fought it with every fibre of her body, she even broke free and helped Shepard. I was there." This time Liara says something like "She said it was like beating your hands on glass". Is this usual if you don't take Liara to Noveria? Seems odd because how would Benezia tell Liara this? This whole section seems superfluous to someone doing an action game anyway, particularly as all the dialogue has been amended as if you've never played before and don't know the background.
Other citadel stuff:
Shep just releases the mad asari Eclipse leader and has the general killed in Aria's merc mission.
Barla Von. Doesn't mention working for the Shadow Broker, but I think it's established that this plot line has been made redundant. They are not the Shadow Broker's mercs, but just some mercs that Barla is helping to get off world.
It seems generally odd that they think that someone who hasn't played ME1 or ME2 wouldn't expect some of the characters to have some history, as they are joining at the 3rd game after all. People are able to fill in the blanks like or get the gist. Like when Shep speaks with Garrus on the Normandy. Rather than talking about the old days and running like rogue sprectres and c-sec officers, they just say "it's not like the old days... *strange pause* ...we're respectable now."
Shep and the usual LIs are still being stand-offish with each other.

Given how renegade shepard is, I imagine you are going to betray the krogan. Think Eve will die? Or shoot mordin?
Forgot to mention in the last update, Eve is coughing a lot and doesn't sound well. Does that depend on whether you saved or deleted Maelon's data?

IT WOULD MEAN THERE IS A CANON ROMANCE! MY GOD THEY WOULD BE STEALING MORE CHOICES FROM US!
It would be a big mistake to put a romance in there.

I purposely played LotSB so that my Shepard didn't watch the videos nor read the dossiers, cause she believes that stuff is none of her business. Then when she talks to Matriarch Aethyta in ME3 she's all "I saw a video of you staring at a photo of Liara! You're her dad/mom!"
wtf, immersion breaking.

If they put a romance in action mode, there would be fan rage over who was picked, even though most of the fans didn't play action mode and could just play RPG or Story mode and pick whoever they want.

Liara did invite us to use those consoles and said she set them up for our use. NVM I see what you mean now, your Shep would not snoop on his squaddies and friends/allies.

Seeing that in Action mode, all conversations play as cutscenes, and you make no choices... Who do you end up romancing?

Last things that happened:
Rachni queen killed in ME1
Grunt appears to have been left in his pod, he's not on the mem wall and he wasn't leader of Aralakh Company. Another odd character to leave out, he's ideal for action gamers.
New Rachni queen left to rot.

Just to say I've given up on that "action Shep" run through, it was just so dull lol.

Considering how poorly the rachni queen was handled, why didn't they keep her rather than have the fake one? Also yeah its strange to lose Grunt.
