Prothy is indeed a mistake. It seams just like atempt to lure more people to buy DLC even at the cost of broking the lore. But to be honest explanation given at the end of ME for extiction of Prothen wasn't really good. Sacrifice was just stupid. They could choose to rebuild civilization first a solve problems of next generation of sapient speacies later. Low numbers is no problem with cloning and tuns of DNA samples from stasis pods.

The whole idea that oh we find this super weapon some where in the game and its the magic reaper killer . Plus why can't we just find the info on our own .

I am happy that a Prothean was added to the game.

Not buying the DLC is not really solution. Only way to fix it is to erase it from history. Unfortunately I can't do that.

Now you know how I feel about ME: Genesis and ME: Deception.

That the problem of games in general. Majority of players wouldn't know what to do and the game wouldn't more frustrating and nowhere near as much popular.

I would prefer that they hadn't done this, but now that I know there is a live one, it really makes no difference. Can't change it now.

Considering the voice they gave him, this prothean will not get into my squad. He's be getting the Zaeed treatment from me who's voice kept breaking my game immersion.

Yeah, the voice is ridiculous.

If this Prothean actually proves to be really interesting, I probably will download this one. But I was a bit disappointed in Kasumi, mostly because I was just expecting more than just another squad member and her loyalty mission since I had to pay for it.

What? Disappointed in Kasumi...plasphemy!!! Not only did you get a great squad member you also obtained a new bonus power in Flashbang and the M-12 Locust (the best SMG IMO)

I know it is far too late to actually do anything about it, but I would have preffered that the Protheans stayed extinct (or corrupted).

One of my favorite parts about the Mass Effect universe is the Prothean mystery. Every time, I think about one of the last missions in the original Mass Effect, where you visit the ruins and find the ancient AI. The music in the background was calm and almost mournful. What you saw was the unforgettable tragedy of the race that ruled the galaxy.

I agree. Mass Effect 2 and especially ME3 are crapping all over that experience.

A Prothean squadmate is a horrible idea. The Collector/Prothean link was a terrible idea too.

At least it is DLC so you can avoid it.

I don't want him. Glad he was only DLC and not in full game. He seems more like a lore made by Bioware to get some extra money and it sounds pretty stupid for the story. THE LAST PROTHEAN OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH! Keep your prothean Bioware.

i think thats a bad excuse honestly to not want him on your squad

and ive said this before bioware and ea ARE NOT the only company to do this and its the whole gaming industry

Or I simply don't want a Prothean squadmate? They can give me any other squadmate in the world and I will download it. If there was a DLC to bring Legion or Miranda back for $30 then by all means, I would pay for it, but a prothean I dislike the idea because it just sounds stupid for there to be some sole surviving prothean.

Your have quite a thick skull buddy.

Legion was a pretty horrible idea too and while I did like him initially that ended once the novelty wore off. That's all the prothean is: a novelty character.

and thats fine but im just saying the reason why he is even in as a dlc is mainly because bioware wants to tie up all story lose ends wich imo isnt bad

i mean hey look even if i wasnt fortunate enough to snag a ce id still pay the 10 bucks because i want the full story to be done. yea he may not be a major part but dude cmon its still cool

My point being though is that some people don't want the DLC because they just don't like the character! Not because they have to pay for it. SOME people are too stubburn to understand.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with his voice, if you listen to the extended dialogue that's on youtube. It's over two minutes long and he sounds just fine. The earlier leak was just 30 seconds of his battle cries, this has conversational speaking. He sounds really cool and I think  most of the reason people think his voice is "ridiculous" is because it's unique.

I like the idea of learning more about the Protheans, but at the same time it breaks the mythos apart. Shatters it even. Here we have an ancient race we've been chasing knowledge about, trying to change our fate so we don't end up like them. They've been repurposed into basically the main force you face in the sequel, and now "Oh hey, there's this one left, and he's gonna join you!" I realize that this will likely end up being like the Kasumi and Zaeed DLC's, where they more or less become afterthoughts once you finish their story arcs, and he'll just kinda be there on the ship with a few random lines thrown in throughout the rest of the game. Still, it's intriguing and somewhat depressing at the same time.

I thought it was more how making him a DLC automatically makes someone who should be extremely important into an afterthought. Free or not DLC = optional.

Shale in Dragon Age: Origins was FAR from an afterthought. Even being a
DLC character, he was the best character in the game. If the Prothean is
anywhere near that quality, then it's worth every penny.
