I'm a female gamer, but I play on the PC. I play all sorts of games..I just love games in general.

Somewhere on one of the first pages, a guy said that girls were easy to spot because we play females in pink...funnily enough, its all my male characters that I put bright pinks on, and all my females are in blues, and greens, lol.

I haven't heard any other girls out there on the mic, but I don't speak when I'm in random groups either. I usually play with a set group of people though so it doesn't come up much.

LOL. I'm a girl, and honestly, I have spent many years not understanding what is so fun about my husband's online playing of games like the Gears of War franchise. I thought, what's so fun about running around shooting things? So when ME announced a multiplayer aspect to ME3, I thought "Eh, whatever. I'll just play the campaign."

However, when the demo came out and I finished the small taste of the campaign, I wanted more ME3, so I tentatively checked out the multiplayer, and badgered my husband (who has never played ME) into downloading the demo to play with me, so I'd at least have someone to show me the ropes. (We are a his and hers Xbox household.) To my surprise, I totally love the multiplayer! I don't know if it's because it's Mass Effect, and I already love the universe, but it is totally fun, and I love that we get to play other races. I just wish I could unlock the Asari Adept .

Now, my husband's friends send him text messages like "Hey, we need a sniper! Can your wife come play??" The other day, I was on just playing with some random group of people, and I happened to have chat on. Around Wave 5, one of the other players finally asked me "I don't mean this to sound offensive, but...are you a girl??" like he just couldn't believe it, despite the sound of my voice. So we really must be a rare thing.

Anyway, I'm still learning, but I have managed to accrue enough points when playing with our usual group that I'm not always the bottom experience earner. Once I was even the first, and I don't even know how that happened! I'm the first to admit this style of play is very new to me, and I'm still learning. When I play with random people, I feel like I should apologize sometimes, because the more experienced players kill things so fast, I hardly have a chance to keep up.

Also, it messes me up when I switch characters, and all of the powers have different buttons. I wish they would let us assign them.

Not as much as I'd like! spending so much time trying to get into a lobby, then having to leave because like... it's gold and everyone there are levels 1 through 5 or something XD

I had that problem as well (the Gold thing), and then I realized I could set it to only look for bronze, or silver if I'm feeling brave. Also, if it's set to any challenge and gold comes up, if you happen to end up the leader, you can change it to bronze, or ask the leader to if they're on chat.

I'm a girl and I'm playing on PS3. Own a 360 as well and that's what I play ME on but for online I use my PS3.

People probably just assume I'm a guy.

Although it's still mainly guys that dominate the video game scene, it's nice to see so many replies to this thread and what feels like the balance slowly starting to shift. We need more women playing games so we can get more in-depth female characters, rather than T&A in armoured thongs (ME is actually better than most in this regard tho).
