I've probably run into a few females playing the game but the majority of randoms don't usually have a mic. It's interesting though to hear some female gamers some of them rage harder than some guys I've meet.

My profile gives absolutely no personal information, neither does my xbox live.  Don't see what the big deal is?  We are playing an online video game, not online dating.

Of course it's just a game. I'm just surprised. In most games, women are rather reluctant to share their gender. Too many MMO's, I suppose.

I agree, and that made me a little hesitant to play online.  I didn't want to be judged because I was a woman and people think just because I am I don't know what I am doing.  I figured if I let people know here then it wouldn't be an issue once I joined someones game.

You write/spell well on a forum, so that automatically puts you leagues ahead of most internet users (male or famale - or otherwise).

From my experiance, people write better on forums compared to in game.

I haven't had the best experience online. I was on a really good team and I told the other players "You guys were great." at the end of the match, and they all left the lobby as soon as the screen loaded. I realize not everyone can play all night but it felt kinda sucky. And then some people play with their mic on and all you hear is breathing. I use the kinect.

Yeah, my experience hasn't been the best either. When I started playing the mp I had two or three groups kick me out right away in bronze - I'm guessing because I was low leveled since they were all high leveled. I could see if I was trying to play silver or gold, but bronze?

Anyway, anyone can add me if they want as long as you don't mind that I'm only average at it (I don't play that many shooters), so I typically stick with bronze for now - evenstars on ps3. How well I play seems to depend on the style of the people I play with. I prefer to focus on staying together somewhat and completing the mission, rather than groups where everyone rushes in different directions to get as many kills as possible.

And so far no one has mentioned my gender, but I don't have a mic so they could just be assuming I'm a guy.

I play mp, and I'm a chick, but from the matches I've played, guys don't want to play the GAME with us girls, they want to send us all kinds of private messages during the match. I've had this problem since the early Halo days, so now I don't use a mic in public matches. I don't need to be bombarded with messages telling me I have a sexy voice or spammed friend requests. And even w/o a mic you still get those "R U really a girl?" messages. I'm sure most of you other ladies can relate. I play because I like to shoot things...and I'd LOVE to play with other girls.

No offense, guys, I'm sure there are mature guys who play, but you get overshadowed by all the childish people and creeps.

I am also a female but I don't really support advertising as a girl really. I mean all it will do is add to the stereotype of girl gamers and such. But I am willing to play if you want. PM me if you want a friend. I am playing through the main storyline right now but I will play multiplayer if you want.

Love it! Maybe if more people spoke up and tried to prove them wrong there wouldn't be sucha stereotype. Let everyone know you're a girl gamer.

Exactly. I'm so careful online that I can Google my real name and nothing shows up, so I have no problem giving out my gamertag (Jungle Vixen).

My only regret? Using "Vixen", but Jungle Vixen's an old alias I used elsewhere so I have a soft spot for it.
