Yeah but common in games like WoW and like Ellendaire mentioned WoW is swarming with women. Outside of rpg's is where the shock sets in on some guys heh. Again though without the chat people wouldn't even know if the people they are playing with are guys or girls and typically just assume guy as was the norm before. Unless they have a name like GamerGir1 or something.

Even with an obviously female gamertag I still get "Are you really a girl?!" if I don't say anything right away.

I had the Opposite .. having to convince people that I'm a dude... that was weird..

Are there any girl players? I'd love to play with you...always...and...forever...because, you're female.

Yum yum yum.
Face it guys. Girls on XBL or SPN won't date you, won't send pictures, won't fall in love with you, and won't want to play with anyone creepy. And now we move on.

I swear my old guild in WoW was half women. Really talented players too. I have to say it was a little odd hearing our female raid leader berating some of the dudes in our group for standing in the wrong place or missing interrupts. I got used to it though and we made it through a lot of content with her leading us.

Indeed and I hope more and more women make use of voice chat in games where applicable with more exposure they will be more accepted and expected in games and maybe well even see less of the dribbling net cassanova wannabes spouting less drivle and basically leaving the girls to get on with the game.

You have guys that use Female names and pics to thank for that and of course no one wants to make an ass of themself hehe.

As per I mentioned above and going by your pic and name here if your using a female Pic and name it's gonna cause confusion.

What I meant was: Telling people I'm a dude and they not believing it. And still not months later..
In WoW human males look like dorks so I played a female. You can't play a female human with a male name.. thats just wrong..
Name kinda stuck so.

And the picture.. Who doesn't love our bossy cheerleader?

So treat us like all other players and don't be creepy . Don't assume we want to date you or send you pics. Not all guys are like that - because I've made real life friends with good people over live that have driven across the country to have drinks or come to a party. Then again, most guys online don't seem to think "friends" is enough.

That's my point. I meet a girl, I'm civil, and I talk and have a good time, I've even helped a couple with breakups or drama with advice giving, I was sarcastically referencing the other 99%  of XBL players who...when they meet a girl online...well...you know.

"ZOMG A GURL!!! OMG! SHOW ME YOUR TA-TAS GUUUUURL!!!! NEKKED PICTUUUURES! ARE YOU HAAWT?!?!?!?!111"

Yup. that said though I personally have a bad habbit of flirting with girls I get to know I don't neccessarily mean anything by it it's just playfull banter but although it might be fine with some it might not be for others. Of course tell me to pack it in and I'll do so but you get the idea. Ideally the best practice is to just be nice! Taking a chance you risk losing a friend.

*Points to name* Been playing it both on demo and since it came out here. Got abuse once or twice, but apart from that nothing. Don't really care who I play with, just as long as they aren't total idiots. *Shrugs*

I've played for so long that flirting is good fun 99% of the time. It's when a guy takes the flirting too seriously that things go bad. And so many younger players (not to bash them, but it's true) don't seem to understand that you are not doing us a favor by straight out hitting on us the second a match starts. A shy girl or one new to xbox might even quit your game. Most of the girls I've played with who've said their age are between 20-25, myself included. We do NOT want 15 year olds hitting on us.

I haven't had this happen yet in ME3 but I did have it happen a couple times in L4D on 360.  And I told that guy the same thing that we've been saying here.  That's the reason we can't have nice things and the reason girls don't plug in their mics.  It's like these dudes met their soul-mate because OMG SHE PLAYS GAMES LIKE ME!  Get over it.

I'm not saying it's impossible to hook up over a video game (I actually dated a girl I met on EQ) but it's not going to happen over the course of a 20 minute silver challenge.  So instead of worrying about dropping your best A game for the female in the room, how about you actually concentrate at the task at hand so we can extract.  K? Thanks. ;)

Yeah exactly and I hate to see it because it can make a lot of girls withdraw from the gaming scene I don't know how bad it is on console as I'm a PC gamer but I've seen how creepy attached some guys can get even through no real fault of their own they just like the girl in question but you gotta be sensible.

Anyway I'm dragging things off topic I just hope that some guys who will glance over all this who might have put their foot in their mouth see this and think otherwise. Sure different kinds of relationships can happen just DON'T EXPECT IT.

Of course you'll always just get outrigt muppets but meh that always happens. What the ignore buttons are for hehe.

It's not uncommon to (without voice) pretend you're a guy, just so you don't get hit on. Though I suppose that's more rare in FPS squad things where the mics aren't really optional.

I'm confused. . .  so you're actually a guy who just happens to have a *seemingly* female profile? Is that about right? Haha anyway, I know what you mean - I think the male human models in WoW look like absolute cr@p.

^This. Also, senseless bravado resulting in careless charging that usually ends up in you getting downed and being a burden on your team doesn't help. ( By 'charging', I don't necessarily mean vanguards, but running right into the thick of things ) You know what would be funny? If that situation happens, and it turns out you're actually the only guy in the group, and you just acted brash and brought your team down with you. "Uh . . . whoops.":pinched:
So please, bring your A-game for the good of the team. Thats just it, really. Chances are, she'll probably like you more for it ;)

"Gamergirls".. Oh god.

No thanks, I prefer to play with people that actually know how to play and dont give a **** about how their character looks. Everything with women is always so drawn out, boring, dull.

My girlfriend and I used to play WoW together until I was blunt and told her she genuinely did suck balls.

I also reported you.

I dress my character for fun. Takes 30 seconds. It has nothing to do with being a girl gamer. All of my close guy friends do the same thing.

Methinks you're hating on chicks because you're one of the men that can't stand the thought of being beaten by one. I've spent YEARS online with jerks like you and I've foumnd the most efficient way to put you in your place is to show you that half the gamer chicks are BETTER at the games than men because we have to work to earn our reputation.

Also to the other chicks in this thread - my gamertag is  Isis 524

Uhm, have I asked for your response? What gave you the impression that I even remotely care about you, or your reporting?

Have fun being mediocre.

So...mysogynist?

Found that comment hilarious. It's like some guy appears to room and shouts: "WTF?! GIRLS PLAY MASS EFFECT 3?! IMPOSSIBRUUUUUU!!!!"

The important part of my comment was "we didnt fail (knowing your love for puns I refrain from writing "suck") and not that we game at all. ;)

Although I am really amazed that ppl are stil astonished about female gamers out there...I would have thought that they are pretty common since WoW. Still a minority but not exotic at all *shrugs*

Well, as common as people who say they are women and are not. I guess thats why people are skeptical. ;)

I would love to be able to play with other girls on silver (not ready for gold yet, and you can generally run bronze with random people). It's hard to find a good team for silver.

I play on the pc though!
