@flipsy: hahaha, i don't run off, but i'm a soldier so i don't like to solo because my role is naturally that of a crowd thinner, so i'd rather truck it across map for a rambo vanguard than be left by myself to die some miserable death by a husk
(because i always die from the dumb enemies, husks and swarmers)
occasionally, however, i do something like roll backwards to get away from an enemy and roll straight into a turret because no one let me know one was nearby ...

My friend's girlfriend plays ME3 a bit on 360, and was about level 17 soldier when I visited with another friend. Was a bit bored and wanted to show off ME3 a bit to my traveling partner, so got her a level~10 engineer, 100% readiness, and unlocked the Salarian for her.

Of course, even I perpetuate the stereotypes of girl gamers not really knowing what the hell they're doing. My only evidence is my sister, who, despite being more excited for Skyrim, did not know what the hell she was doing when she started.

I'm a girl and I've been playing BioWare games for awhile, including KOTOR1 and 2, Dragon Age 1 and 2, SWtOR and this.

Multiplayer in Mass Effect 3 is a lot of fun. Would be even more fun with friends

Funny, she started with Oblivion. And Fallout 3.

Granted, she really doesn't play a lot of video games. Hell, not even sure how much of Skyrim she's really played.

Well they are fun western style RPGs. Running around gathering herbs and sniping necromancers etc. I mustve lost a big part of my life roaming those games

I think there are more females on MP out there than one would think. Their gamertags and/or characters are misleading or they just don't want to talk. But whatever. I keep up with the guys and it's no big deal. I have my team and we rock MP, but we really need a 4th, it'd be nice to have another skilled female in the mix.

Never said they did just giving one possible example. Apparently a lot of people are having issues getting their mics to work as well or so I've heard.

I'm a guy, and i don't care if the team i'm on has girls in it or not, as long as we stick together, fight as a team and support each other to survive, then that's all that matters.

I think just after typing my post I went out and got toasted several times. Great fun!

I really enjoy playing as a team, I always seem to end up with more assists than kills so I hope I'm a good team player! don't really care how many I get, as long as my team makes it to the end of the mission

There's a reason for that, you know.... The obvious, and the fact that great laughs can be had when people start getting genders wrong either way.

Chances are better (as of now anyway) to get the gender right if one refers to everyone as "he/dude"... I tend to do that right until the awkward realization

Btw. I'm looking for a decent team to play with; feel free to hit me up if you need someone who actually enjoys playing in support roles - holding back a huge mob is fun, I'm even up for gold.
Sorry for the slight OT; no, I'm not a girl, and no, I'm not looking for girls specifically, it's just that this topic will be read by _everyone_  (though in my experience girls tend to be good team players... all that few I've played with anyway, heh)

I myself have been finding it increasingly harder to find any female gamers that play the same games as i do. Even less so that actually talk. Those that i have played with however, we're much more helpful then most. I guess i have no luck in the matter it seems. :/

Started playing the MP a week ago with a couple of colleagues (two guys and a girl).
It's addictive!
First time I played online on my xbox, can you believe it. Never wanted to pay money to play online. Didn't know any xbox players, either. Now I do and a friend even gave me a 3 months gold membership code. I am very very happy

Considering that ME was my first shooter gameplay experience and that I had NO experience whatsoever with shooting a target that moves without pausing the game, I do okay.
Getting used to the combat style.
I'm not one of those people who have no clue at all what they are doing but I'm not a tactical person, either.

In SP I tend to hang back and shoot from a distance (infiltrator FTW). The MP is different. I play more aggressively. What gets me killed sometimes
I saved the mission once, though. A minute bofre the pick up we all died, but I could revive myself with my last medi-gel. Ran through 10 geth seconds before the end of the mission and saved the day as the only survivor. That was great.
Mostly I simply contribute to the success (or failure) of the mission. I usually rank third, sometimes second.
Only played on bronze so far as a human female sentinel. Current level: 18.
Going to level up my Quarian infiltrator next I think. IF the lovely people on the random party don't kick me out...

Just got ruined last game I played with randoms because 2 didnt even break 20K in 7 waves of silver, and the 3rd that was right behind me quite, probably from lag glitches. (playing vanguard)

so yeah, playing with randoms is getting old. I'm a guy, but this thread seems to be the place, send me an invite if you want a good vanguard. I also play anything but adept and Infiltrator.

No, I'm not the first type although my post might have made it seem that way. I just get tired of the "OMG! Girl!" reaction that I tend to get. And, I need to concentrate on what I'm doing if you're going to get anything like a halfway decent effort out of me, so I don't appreciate distractions. Also, if I leave my mic on, you'll hear the constant stream of me muttering at myself under my breath, and it isn't always pretty. I figure no one really needs to hear me say "Oh, s***! Banshee!" when one screams at the start of a round and crap like that.

I do have a mic, but I would much prefer to listen to someone who knows what needs doing give instructions. I'll use the mic if it's needed though.

And I guess I'll give.

Anyway, I played my first match with a girl who had a mic last night.  She was very good and we ended playing a whole bunch of matches but nothing harder than silver.  The other two dudes with us were actually rather mature about it which was nice.  They all added me as a friend and I'm looking forward to playing some more games with those guys.

Seems like a bunch of people play outside my usual time (GMT -6) but I'll throw my XBL name out again anyway.  --> x13th Shell

Played some Gold matches against the Geth with a girl and 2 guys. All of them Salarian Engineers and I was using Asari Adept for 2 matches before switching to Human Engineer with chain overload. Gawd...the fireworks were just...pretty..lots of tech burst and stuns. I've never had such confidence in Gold matches before.
