so not true, me and my 2 mates all have pink color for no apparent reason
i mean what's better then to rock gold in pink?

My ultimate dream was to create a team of bright pink krogan. It would be a shangri-la only comparable to the quadguard.

...Of course, I am female. But I suppose having "JerkfaceArsebutt" as an Origin ID balances it out a bit.

I had a Maroon and Lavender colored Krogan for the longest time, then I changed him to White for...some reason.

Is it strange that I felt this thread was a touch odd? I stopped worrying about genders in gaming and online a long time ago. If you can game and are fun to hang out with, awesome. But really, girls play games more an more these days so it's no longer some sort of shock.

Still, the ladies tend to be a bit more mature than the guys on average in my experience.

There are probably more girls out there than you realize, but most aren't going to be so quick to broadcast that either. Nothing worse than being harassed by guys when you are just trying to play the game.

It's the same with me. You just don't even think about it anymore.

Why does my entire gender feel the need to express they are female and playing a game?

I always assume characters in pink colors are female players.... then I realize their username is g.i.joe007 and I am disappointed.

My sister plays using my account instead of me when I'm at work.
I think its impossible for one to realize when you're playing with a girl unless she speaks into the microphone.
and to be honest, that attracts pedophiles and perverts >_>)

Maybe because they believe that if they make their presence known then the opposite gender will stop treating female gamers like something unimaginably rare. Many males tend to unconsciously poke female players out of curiosity, like a child who came across a cadaver for the first time, would poke the poor dead thing just out of curiosity.

Unfortunately there are less mature males who would poke their fellow female gamers because they don't usually socialize with the opposite sex, they cant be helped.

And then there are people like me, who would read first five and last five comments, quote one they find interesting and ignore the rest of the ongoing conversation.

Or maybe they want attention.

If they just wanted to be treated just like everyone else then perhaps they could acting like everyone else.

I have worked with female guild officers and guildmasters for years. None of them felt the need to constantly annouce their gender. Amazingly enough once people did find out they didn't make a big deal about it.

Funny how that works.

I find it a damn shame that women can't broadcast themselves as femgamers without fear of attracting a perverse ass whole... Feel sorry for yas... *Picks up mic and begins playing...*

Ah, the online gaming world: where internet women and krogan women are essentially treated the same way.

Definitely, and the proof is Justin Bieber and the boys bands :P

Nah, but you all say that girls don't show off like guys but it's not true, i'm sure some do, and take me for example, i don't give a **** about the score and i like to support in the team. The only time i don't bother reviving someone is when they run to the other side of the map when the objective is right here.

Anyhow, i don't know if i ever played with a girl in my team (it's likely though), never heard one on the mic, but some probably heard me cursing in French :P

I mistook a prepubescent kid for a chick once, because he really sounded like a girl.

True story.

Quark many females don't use their mic's because of the fact that either the mic makes them sound male or many of the males think they are pre-pubescent males who are new to the gaming industry and online gaming. Therefore most of us tend to just not use them and play anyways.
