Who cares if no girls play it? Who cares if they do? Its a game. Being a girl yourself, you should know they shouldn't be harassed.

You can play as a female in Gears of War 3, not very often, but it's still possible. I play it a fair bit, multiplayer though so I guess it's a bit diff coz you can choose your character obviously.

Your first question though is a big no. Only because you said shooters, in shooters it's not 100% required I need to be a female character, RPG's on the other hand, it's a definite requirement.

If Commander Shepard could only be a male, I would never have played Mass Effect. So I will always be thankful for that, because it introduced me to such an amazing universe.

Well he's renegade, so if he looks anything like renegade Shepard's broken-a** face then yea... I guess he is a zombie, or looks like one anyway.

That's why you shouldn't be surprised that he isn't scared by horror games. (Even if he was he wouldn't admit it..)

Also, considering I'm probably 1/3 her age, no... I also didn't have that much trouble with Stubbs the Zombie. You get points for it being that game though, that brought back some fond memories of dancing and eating people.

Otherwise, critical mission failure

This is very true for me. I prefer games where I can play as a girl, customisation being a super plus as well. That is why I got super excited when I learned about Saints Row a few days back. Typical male game ala GTA where you **** **** up + lets you play as a girl if you so wish. I don't even care if it was meant for fanservice, I'll take it.

Another reason why there are not many girls playing shooters is perhaps because most don't really have a gripping story. I'm looking at COD, Battlefield, and the like. But then again. shooters are mostly about the mp nowadays, so IDK.

Yeah, customization would totally catch my attention. Let's just say that I am soo hooked on ME series was the fact that I get to be Fem Shepard and kick ass big time!

On a side note.. I actually loved CoD (whole series), Medal of Honor (the newer one), Battlefield 3, Brothers-in-Arms stories.. seriously.. I only played them for the single player. All the shooters I ever played were for the story. Sure it's not on par with RPG stories, but eh.. they are interesting.


I was so invested in whether Rabbit died in MoH, whether Soap was going to survive in Cod: MW, whether I get to stop the double crossing agent in BF3. They were all.. engaging to me. BUt yeah... i am just different I guess.

There are female gamers who are into shooters, though I'm not sure by how many. Although I'm not really into Halo (I mainly play em' for the campaigns only), COD or BF3; I really love playing Metro 2033, Far Cry, Ghost Recon AW 2, Rainbow Six Vegas, Bioshock series, Half-Life series and my personal fav, Borderlands!
My first shooter was the first original Doom. Ahhh the good old days where bad graphics rules FPS and aiming doesn't involve up & down lol

Still waiting for PC version of Ghost Recon Future soldier! And MEtro 203333! Good times.. waiting for Metro First light! Too bad STALKER is officialy dead though...and still waiting for the discount on Borderlands lol

My first shooter was definitely Counter Strike, with bots all the way.. I think.. Boring game though.. no story.

It's boring because there's no story in it. So I doubt my opinion would change. I could never get myself to play MP based games (and shooters) without any storyline whatsoever (evident from all the other shooters I played). Even ME3 MP, I kinda make story up when I play matches "Need to hold the lines to buy shepard time!!"
