I wonder if Batarian who claims this is about "Comm buoy disruption due to solar output", is indoctrinated or doesn't actually have any information about what is really happening.

If Batarians were able to message from their system, I would imagine com channels would be filled with pleas for help.

It's interesting to see if there are any more news about this before ME3 comes out and if we get to know more about Reapers invading Hegemony space in ME3.

This is so damn menacing, Reapers appear in system, communications gone, just like that... How fast that happened makes me wonder if they were able to fight back at all.

For all we know somewhere in the Batarian homeworld...there was a batarian kid happily playing with a space ship when suddenly, the reapers came and huskified everything and everyone he knows.

But still, it's kind of hard for me to feel sorry for them.

Batarians are the catalyst for the entire universe's hate. I mean really, they're not exactly "nice", but as far as expansionism and xenophobia goes they're actually very close to the Systems Alliance and humans in general (we hear about batarian slavers all the time... how many pirates, mercs and so forth unsavory types we kill are humans?).

Getting all the media flak AND being the first species to be harvested... unlucky, unlucky SoBs.

Also, I wonder why do people seem to believe the batarians are gone. Anyone remembers Vigil?

"The genocide of a species is a long, slow process." The extermination of Protheans took centuries, and that's with Reapers being in control of the Citadel. Batarian military may be broken, government in disarray and people dying all the time, but they're not all goners. They won't be for a looooooooong time.
