Those of you N7 level 100+ players on bronze, don't try and votekick someone who's a low character level....it's bronze, not hard. Just because you can't cut it on silver or gold doesn't mean you should come into bronze and try to bully your way to 120.

I was in a bronze match with 2 other people one was level 111, the other was level 7 and the 111 tried to votekick the level 7, I mean seriously?

Haha wow.  I've never seen anything like this happen... it's rare even in silver difficulty.  That is kind of pathetic.

I votekick people on bronze who have held up the other 3 of us longer than 7 minutes inbetween matches. I don't care if you're Lvl 1 or Lvl 101, 5-6 minutes is long enough to get something to drink/dump the trash/pinch a loaf/etc.

I've seen it happen where the guys just leave when they see a lower level on bronze. It's sad that people like that. I feel bad for the newcommers later on.

Sometimes the matchmaker puts people looking for gold and silver in bronze so if theres a lot of 100's and one lowbie people tend to not think it's bronze and try to kick. It happened to me once I was like "oh wait wth, it's bronze?"

I may leave a lobby on Silver (and definately on gold) when someone with N7 lvl below 25 and a character lvl below 8 is present, or respectively vote for kick if we have chances someone better may join, but on Bronze I can more or less solo the difficulty alone, no need to get picky with whomever rolls along.

Those people were just embarrassing.

Is there any benefit to having a 100 or 120 as opposed to a 20 or 40? N7 seems to be a measure of all your character levels as opposed to games played or won.

yes, but generally a 120 will have more games played/won, therefor better weapons and gear than a 20 or 40.  (yes, there could be someone who played 1 class and never played anything else stay a 20 forever)

However, for bronze it really doesn't matter.

Generally it only denotes a basic correlation with playtime, aka experience. A N7 120 will likely have more matches on his back than a N7 20, 40 or 60 (always one class users may be the exception). However there is no guarantee that experience is put to any good. Just because people play a lot doesn't mean they are good.

When looking for good players, simply play a lot, write down the names of those you played well with, friend them on Origin/XBox Live/PSN and there you go. There is no other working method.

You could also argue the higher levels have some experience with more classes so at least have some idea of what to expect from other classes.

But no, it doesn't really mean much.

---
I'll leave a lobby if someone in the team is taking forever to start, other than that I couldn't care less if your N7 rank is 1. It's bronze.

Even better is to get your IRL/other game friends to play.  If they're competent gamers, odds are that they can bring individual play skill and the ability to work in a team.

OT: If you have to kick on Bronze, you're bad.  On most classes I'm not willing to carry people on Silver (time-consuming and irritating), and forget about carrying people on Gold.

I did that once, i'm N7 64 or something like that, I used to play with everything random got into a gold lobby and didn't realize the difference between the difficulties, got booted almost immediatly wondered why until it happened again and the group didn't kick me, got one shotted by a trooper and was like "oh that's why". But on bronze kicks should only happen if the person is taking way to long to hit ready.

I was vote kicking a guy today, on bronze... he was low level, played rap on headset, and was afk for 5 rounds of the first game. Am I a bad person?

nope that's perfectly fine, annoying players like that should be kicked, had one guy in a bronze who just stood around did nothing, ran into groups and died then cried when no one came and rez'd him.

Something else I've noticed the last couple of days, maybe it's my matching luck but bronze players seem to be less and less, lately I've joined a lobby and there would only be me or at most 3.

Then ready up when the game gets full. That's the only reason I votekick someone, and even then only after about 30 seconds of waiting, which seems like a reasonable amount of time to pull the right trigger.

EDIT: That's in reference to starting a match up.  Wait to queue until you've got your loadout picked.  Between matches, take some time if you need it, sure, but about 5 minutes or so is enough.

Try changing the "Challenge" to "Gold" instead of "Random".

I don't have that issue.

N7 level is not an indication of a player's skill level.

I'm N7 rating 104, and if I play Bronze I basically carry everyone dominating with over double sometimes even triple the player before me.

Seems about perfectly proportiate to the increased amount of n00bs on silver and gold difficulty.

Please note:
I am using the term "n00b", not "newbie"!

The kind of n00bs that run into the fray, die, immediately use medigel, return to the fray, try to keep fighting that fray, die again, whince and repeat and then cry why nobody resurrects them. Also, the kind of n00bs that have seemingly never heard about assignments before and are absolutely not going to help, instead preferring to skirmish with enemies (and being bad at that too, very bad most of the time). The kind of n00bs that stand in the open when enemies come from all sides, die, then get resurrected by me but NEVER ever bother to hit THE F*CKING SPACEBAR AND REZ' ME WHEN THEY STAND RIGHT NEXT TO ME!!!!

I'm 108, and I rarely play bronze (usually only if playing with friends who are newish), but I would never kick a low level character player out of a bronze lobby. WTF?!!

I personally hate kick options in games. You never get kicked for a valid reason.. It's why I have trouble getting into Left 4 Dead 2. The second I get in a game "oh he's not one of us. kick him!". Most of the time it's just a sad way for a host to abuse power.

I think 3 out of 4 players ready should be enough to start the game.. And if the 4th person isn't playing then they get kicked for inactivity anyway.

yeah, that happened to me the other way around. I was leveling my turian sentinel, looking for a bronze match, and I go into the lobby and the other 3 are level 20 with N7 ratings in the 80+ range. I thought that was odd, until I looked up and saw the difficulty was set to gold.

Only if you're a dumb f**k. I mean how hard is it to change the difficulty to the desired difficulty?

Honestly, I've never accidently gone into a Bronze looking for a Gold. EVER.

I play pretty often, every moment I get away from the girlfriend. (I understand it's hard to believe I have a girlfriend, but oh well.)

^ You don't get it. I've searched specifically for a bronze match only to be put into a silver lobby and vice versa.

The search/matchmaking function is buggy.
