I leave lobbies with lowbies
I leave lobbies with classes that I don't think will match me
I leave lobbies because I am not happy with the match settings
I leave lobbies with player names I don't like
I leave lobbies when I am the host since I often cause lag (live in Australia)
I leave lobbies because something came up in RL and don't want people to wait
I leave lobbies because I was made to wait
I leave lobbies sometimes because the group is not full (feeling lazy) and I don't want to wait
I leave lobbies because I got DCed from EA servers
I leave lobbies when there is a mexican standoff with someone trying to kick someone else

Basically I will leave lobbies at the drop of a hat. How I choose to spend my leisure time is my decision.

Penalty for relaxing and spending leisure time!

1 million dolla. Elitist behaviour detected. Your time is equally as much mine as it is yours. Don't feel entitled to it.

When I'm prezident I will penalize everybody

Hence why you are not more entitled to tie someone to a fail group than a so-called elitist (seriously how is looking for people able to stand for themselves in the hell of Wave 10 and 11 in Gold being elitist?) to leave this group before hitting Ready.

Just accept the fact that you won't be freely carried and move on.

Biiiig penalty for applying logic. I don't foresee mass effect 3 in your nearest future.

Most low level players don't even stick it out to the end on silver or gold even when you're rezing their carcass every 5 seconds.

This is why I mainly leave, I had 3 today quit at wave 8 lolwat. I did not complain, rezed when I could and many times effectively solo'd the waves.

Just saying more often than not for me they quit.

I mainly only leave a lobby when you have players that do not have the skills to do a "Medal type"

Bronze - Never leave unless I am trying to make money.
Silver - When players are Under Ranking 25 (This means they do not have equipment to do the map.
Gold - When I see under a Rank 75 and not a level 20 Character. (He does not know other classes well enough to be dependable under fire.)

Rank 1 - 24 Silver or Gold I will suggest to turn it down if not I will leave.

Penalty for you!

[imagine if i would do this every time i got a 15 minute ban from ME3]

Why did you get ban from ME3 - Please note as a game owner it our choice if we want to game with you. It is not written that I have to do anything with you. If I want to join your mission and quit after it starts because a player ran into a turret or power set was different than what I wanted you tpo play, I can. I do not even have to play multiplayer because I know my skills are high enough to win the game with out it.

ME3 is a single player game. Multiplayer was added to help you get a perfect ending. Please Note the word: Help. This is not required or must do. Multiplayer is optional that means I can opt not to play it. If you get ban for choosing not to play with a Rank 1 moron in a silver or gold level that would mean Bioware would lose customers. So be gone with you.

I see no problem with people lobby jumping. The client is super buggy and often times I'm in a room with one other person and my wife or friend can't join because it says it's full, even when there are open slots. If I get randomly placed into a lobby with 3 lev 1's trying to go at a silver I'm going to jump, it's a waste of my time. If I want to switch characters I need to jump lobbies cause it screws up my abilities if I change while in a lobby. There is no issue with lobby jumping. If anything the issue is that the game doesn't really let you see who or what is in a lobby until you are already there and there is no way to filter what lev ranges/classes/etc that you want. We can only search based on location and challenge rating, eventually enemy will be included but that still doesn't solve the issue of I don't want to play with this group but the game randomly assigned me to it.

Also we desperately need a chat interface in the lobby. Would probably clear up a lot of people thinking others are "being elitist" when in acutality they just want a room with 2 open slots so they can game with a friend.

At least on PC there aren't even remotely enough "elitists" around to justify hundreds of posts complaining about said elitists. If a high level player leaves the lobby, most likely he does so because:

-it's a gold server with a, LV4 soldier and a LV8 vanguard (or similar)

-it's a gold server with what ever level drell (aka teleporting revive icon)

-it's a server with too much vanguards
I'm happy if the charge anything what got the effrontery to move, but nova spamming makes it impossible for the rest of the squad to aim properly, cause the camera is shaking like hell all the time

-he desperately tries to find a public game for himself with a free slot for a buddy

-it takes ages for someone in the lobby to get ready

Leaving for those reasons isn't elitism but sanity.

Enjoy the elitism while you can because come next week we'll all be low levels again. My first match in the demo we were all low level and plowed through silver. I've friended many players who were low level at the time and competent enough to hold their weight on silver AND gold.
Im thinking some of the players on this board just aren't that good if they cant get through silver or gold with one or two lower level team members. I take it as a challenge to get through a session with team members who are not all uber. 120 btw.

You know the funny thing? About a week after that we will all be leveled and geared up and then we will jump again.

As for carrying anyone, frankly I sure they may do okay. Odds are they won't. You may not consider you time valuable but I do.

To avoid lobby jumpers you need more filters to the game search. Lobby chat will also cut down on jumping.

I'll put it real simply:

It
is not my responsibility to carry you on higher difficulties. If it's
Bronze, I don't really care who you are or what you do. If I can't
carry an anchor, that's my problem. On Silver and up, bring a character
that can pull its weight or get out, with the standard for that being
much lower on Silver than Gold.

As far as your cooldown
suggestion: why should players be penalized if the game keeps randomly
placing them in lobbies with players who have no business playing that
difficulty? Strictly better would be a matchmaking system that gives
players a list of games with enough information to enable making an
educated decision about which one to choose.

+1. And your cooldown suggestion of 15 minutes is insane and absolutely ridiculous. Name one other game with ANY lobby-hopping penality. Why should I be penalized when I enter a lobby with people that I know won't survive 30 seconds in gold? I don't care what the person's N7 rank is; a level 5 character will not put out the same damage as a level 20 in a gold run (or any run).

There are some reasons for me to leave a lobby.
- When I have to suffer cuz of someones bad music taste.
- When I hear seven children and their mom crying in the background.
- When some people need a stupid amount of time to find the "I'm ready" button.

I don't want a penalty just because I don't want to listen to 50cent Oo

I left a lobby yesterday when two self-professed 15-year-olds were calling each other gay and yelling "BOOM" over and over again. You can't have penalties for leaving lobbies when your alternative is that.

You know I think people aren't realizing that a lot of the drops are connection issues. Very often I will be stuck on a loading screen. I can hear people in the lobby. They can probably see me but I can't see them. Then I get DCed. The only time I lobby hop is if I don't get 4 players cause the matchmaking servers don't seem to fill in spots very well.

So, is the OP saying we should stay and play in a Gold match with a level 1/1 Soldier?

My time is valuable as well, that's why I don't waste it running Silver or Gold with 1/1 level players or mouth breathers.

Yes going into matches you don't want to because you don't want to upset the lowbies isn't wasting your time.

Keep telling yourself that.

I on the other find another game in 30 seconds that's to my liking.

20 mins+ versus 30 seconds. Who exactly is wasting time again?

I really don't think I am a elitist, but I think you should get a penalty for Bronze. Reason being everyone started there at some point and new people need to start. Normally on Bronze I try to Lv. up my under characters. Only one time I did have an issue with someone because he did not follow instructions. (i.e. now head to the extraction zone instead of wandering around and getting yourself killed on the other side of the map) My Lv. 3 Drell, was doing pretty well on Bronze.

On Silver, I do think you need some sort of Min. Lv. a Lv. 1 is going to get himself or herself killed. I order to beat silver you need a good squad with you. This is the first time you need to be working as a team.

On Gold (for the record I have only gotten to Wave 6 of Gold), so sorry for being a n00b. I will only attempt a Gold Run with people or a team that I trust and we have a good system.

I don't think a penalty should be in Silver and Gold since it requires some coordination to beat. (Or at least an idea)

As for the N7 rating bonus: That doesn't really work. Why should someone who has a lot of chars on a medium level be regarded as a better player than someone who's been playing his lvl 20 char for several weeks?

redafro wrote...

its not about feeling elite, its about finding a team with a fighting chance, i generally don't care about what classes people bring as i have seen a lot of strange combo's work even in gold but a lvl 10 in gold or a lvl 3 in silver? i ll pass, i don't need to waste the little time i have to play this game with that.
for me its simple
bronze: anny lvl
silver 14+ i might make an exeption for like 1 guy who is 10+ if the rest of the team is decent
gold 18+

i don't really care about people's n7, i got my first char straight to 20 and had a low n7 rank but still ended up second on my team in gold

I agree with these. I don't care much about N7 rating, just actual character level.

If there was a way for the N7 rating to go up just to mark our "experience" even past level 20, then it would actually mean something with regards to player's skill. I have a mid-range N7 rating with two only two level 20 characters that I really enjoy playing. The rest of the points in my N7 rating relate to character training unlocks... it does not mean that I can play my Quarian Engineer very well at all, for example.

As for the lobby hopping thing... it has happened that I search for a Silver or Gold game and then end up "Quick Matched" a Bronze game. Huh?
