People who jump from game to lobby because they do not like the group make or they feel the party levels are too low, face no consequences.
That's why we have antisocial players wanting to kick out the lower levels players in a game.
I think there should be a penalty to players that hop back iand forth nto the lobby more than twice. They should be given a 15 minute coool down before they can enter the search option for a game again.
At the same time if you have a N7 rating of 110-120 and are working with a group that has a 60 % make up of characters with an N7 rating of lower than 30 then the the higher level player should be given a 5 - 10% bonus on credits on the bronze and silver levels which they can use in the store. Its a small incentive but it would help the lower levels out by having an experienced player in their group.
Or maybe give them a free recruit pack when the higher levels stick around.
This is completely and utterly stupid. Thanks to the brilliance of ME matchmaking, I can't play ANY games unless I'm Leader which forces me to back out of many lobbies. Why should I be punished due to their problems?

Other factors are definitely valid. My pet peeve is people not readying up when everyone else is. Makes me feel like they made a game or searched for quick match then went to go do something else. I just don't have time for it. Forcing me to stick with people I just don't want to play with is the worst way Bioware could handle this situation. Beefing up their match making system is the the best.
Cheers.

As for the N7 rating bonus: That doesn't really work. Why should someone who has a lot of chars on a medium level be regarded as a better player than someone who's been playing his lvl 20 char for several weeks?redafro wrote...
its not about feeling elite, its about finding a team with a fighting chance, i generally don't care about what classes people bring as i have seen a lot of strange combo's work even in gold but a lvl 10 in gold or a lvl 3 in silver? i ll pass, i don't need to waste the little time i have to play this game with that.
for me its simple
bronze: anny lvl
silver 14+ i might make an exeption for like 1 guy who is 10+ if the rest of the team is decent
gold 18+
i don't really care about people's n7, i got my first char straight to 20 and had a low n7 rank but still ended up second on my team in gold
I agree with these. I don't care much about N7 rating, just actual character level.
If there was a way for the N7 rating to go up just to mark our "experience" even past level 20, then it would actually mean something with regards to player's skill. I have a mid-range N7 rating with two only two level 20 characters that I really enjoy playing. The rest of the points in my N7 rating relate to character training unlocks... it does not mean that I can play my Quarian Engineer very well at all, for example.
As for the lobby hopping thing... it has happened that I search for a Silver or Gold game and then end up "Quick Matched" a Bronze game. Huh?
Checking the level of weapons actually tells more than the N7 rating.
Now rating is the first thing I see, if someone has a low rating you know that his/her gear is not going to cut it for a Gold run. I'm not asking for Rank X weapons but when your group carries only Rank I it is not hard to tell that it is going to end badly.

I often have to back out of TONS of lobbies in order to find a game I can invite my friend into. I don't leave due to the players or because I don't want to play with them. In fact, I once landed in a room that was ridiculously well balanced. I almost told my friend to bug off for a half hour, but I backed out and silently weeped into the next lobby.
I don't want to be the team leader, nor does anyone seem to ever join a lobby my friend starts. So yeah.
No.

It's the fault of the matchmaker. Not the players.

I never leave a lobby. I play for fun, not to be some "Pro" on a game.
Some people find their fun winning a match rather than wasting 20-30 minutes because the group was clearly not ready for a Gold run.
Heck I even don't need to win a match... I had some wipes that were still great because at least people knew what they were doing and sometimes things just go awfully wrong but babysitting is not my definition of fun.

I would care if this was the actual game. It's not, it's a demo and it won't be carried over. No point of trying too hard. I gave up levelling up after a week cuz I saw no real purpose.
Plus if you don't want to babysit you can always press the kick button, you know.

Also, this is a demo, so none of our stuff/reputation is going to carry over, so more reason to lighten up...

I will sometimes lobby hop when I'm looking for a game with two open slots because a friend and I like to play together. It would be nice if you could search for a group as a pair.

Not really. I actually took advantage of this demo to build my friend list as I ran nice matches to be ready for launch.
Unless you plan to change your Origin ID it's not hard to recognize people.

Is that why I keep getting kicked out of games? Damn it!
I could use my level 20 adept but I don't gain an N7 rank for it.
I only kick players if they spend 15 minutes doing nothing. I want to play a game.
I will only leave a lobby if people are wasting time, if I lose connection (this happens too often), if the PS3 crashes (this happens too often). I want to play online. If the team is underpowered they will leave themselves or change their characters realising that they have chosen too high a difficulty.
I don't tend to lobby hop because it's hard to find any game anyway. I'm greatful that I have people willing to work together as a team. People who understand the meaning of co-operative. People that are unwilling to kick me out.

Why would you carry anything else?! I just carry the one pistol that gives me no cooldown penalty on bronze/silver and stick a scope on it for situations where I can't charge in.
But one topic this is just a bad idea, there are a million and one reasons, lots of them good for not hanging around in a lobby. Not to say I like it when I join up as a forth and then suddenly others leave but stuff happens.

While I get not wanting to play with too low levels, why drop out when classes don't match?
It is possible to change your own class.
Unfortunately, the quickslot unbing bug requires you to exit the game lobby unless you want all your powers to be unmapped and useless (well, not entirely useless, you just have to use the unpaused tactical menu and manually select every power you want to use there) when you change your class in the lobby.
Huh? Never heard or noticed that. Is that a PC or console bug?
And yes, I then also understand of not wanting to change your class

Note: I do lobby hop sometimes and I'm not ashamed at all. Usually what makes me lobby hop is:
-- Someone not going to ready after a few minutes
-- Not enough people in the lobby and nobody else coming in quickly enough
-- Someone with TONS of very loud background noise on the MICs making it hard to communicate
Basically it comes down to common courtesy and not wasting my time.

Me and Felo play on PC and it happens there every time you change class in the lobby. Sometimes you get lucky and have 1 ability on the quickslot though...

This issue is not that rampant. It's like you are implying that it happens all the time, yet I very often pick a different class in the lobby to suit the need of the group and so far I have encountered this bug only once.

I know we had to have frustrated some people that night but we had no choice if we all wanted to play together. *shrug*

So, is the OP saying we should stay and play in a Gold match with a level 1/1 Soldier?
Never said anythig about gold level being sanctioned- if you read the original post. I think some people here have reading challenges. They comprehend what they want to ratrher than what was posted. Quite funny actually.
Personally if a low level showed in gold - I'd probably walk too.
People setting their hair on firew about gold and low levels. ..
