edit: On Titanic 74% of all females were saved. But only 20% of all men.

Fun fact: There was more than enough space in the lifeboats for everyone, but the "women and children first" mentality led to many if not most lifeboats being sent off before they were full.


OT: No idea. I would say that Ash is the canon survivor, if there is a canon, but then again I never liked Kaiden for some reason, so I might be biased that way

When talking to Ashley if you pick a renegade option shepard defines ahsley as hearing an opinion from the heart and Kaidain from the mind, Which would be more Valuable, Kaiden. More interesting, Ash.

Nope. I chose Kaiden, because I was already on my way to help him out, and it didn't make sense for me to turn around midway. Plus I like him more.

There is no canon, as Casey Hudson already said it. The player build his/her own trilogy, but Ashley was on Mass Effect 1 cover, Ashley was in the walking dead trailler, Ashley is more popular than Kaidan.

If you're maleShep the default selection is Ashley. He's in a lot more marketing than FemShep so there you go.

FemShep's default is for Kaidan to have been saved. Also his character is kind of bland whereas Ashley's is not.

Oddly I have a more forgiving attitude toward Kaidan when it comes to Horizon than I do Ashley even though they said nearly the same exact things. Maybe because it seems like Kaidan is less likely to hold a grudge.

Well if you don't import a save in Mass Effect 2, Ashley lives, so maybe it is cannon.

I'm pretty sure BioWare has data on how many players saved Ashley and how many saved Kaidan. I could have sworn I just read a post from someone here a few days ago mentioning it. Anyway, I do recall that while a good chunk of people did tend to favor Kaidan, the majority saved Ashley instead.

Ironically I did ask the same question on another board... and while a majority admitted to hating ashley's guts... they still saved her for virtue of her being well Female... I guess "always save the girl " means more then we think XD

Which is sad... cause in the grand scheme of things... Ashley is honestly easy to replace, Kaiden is by virtue of being a stable l2 biotic... is a more valuable asset then another person whose well trained in guns... Most of the ME squad mates are that

It's pent up Carth hate and Renegade players hating when thier teamates question thier dubious actions with legitimate reasons XD I kid  I kid

Maybe that's it Kaidan for the most part is your Paragon human teammate, Ashley's your human Renegade.

My male shep was a soldier, so I saved Kaiden because I needed a vanguard more than an another soldier.
Femshep I played as a Vanguard, and I saved Ash because I didn't need another vanguard.
That's my logic.

Opposite sex was saved.
Wrex died.
council died.
no side missions were completed.

I played ME1 with soldier, so Kaidan made(at time) much more sense combat-wise... And I'm glad I made that choice, after ME3 Ashley looks like a porn actress.

I prefer the characters that did not die easily.
Usually means heavy or medium armor.

Why?

For any Mass Effect game to take place after the Reaper invasion there has to bestory already in place. For example Is Wrex alive or dead there are 2 possiblities to a story line one has to be correct if they ever revist the Krogan as a race. I'll go even further Do you choose Quarians or Geth there has to be a choice made for a future installment.
