Noticed one thing that may change how you feel about packs...

What this means, if I haven't just seen a glitch or if the system is changed in the full game, is that in the full game, you'll never get useless upgrades (except for class "upgrades" which in all essence are just 12.5k EXP). if I'm right the way it works is that it removes the item (and its % chance of being unlocked) from the pack, meaning that the probability of recieving other items in the pack should theoretically rise. Of course, once you've unlocked all items, you'll be stuck with either equipment or class bonus EXP in each pack, which will have some use once there's nothing left to get.
So, if what's happening to me is not a bug (and the game just hates me enough to give me several class upgrades for a human class in a veteran pack in a row) then does this change the way anyone sees the pack system?

Actually the character cards unlock more customization options. Maybe once you maxed those out you stop getting them too?Father Alvito wrote...
No, because it isn't improving my odds of getting what I want. If I open a Veteran pack and get a useless Common character card in the fifth slot rather than a useful Uncommon or Rare, then the pack has gotten worse than it was before I unlocked the Uncommons, not better.

During my playthrough of the demo multiplayer, I have now managed to recieve all items in the game, and all non-rare weapons and mods all at maximum level. Now, when I went to recieve two veteran packs from the shop, I noticed that I was not recieving pointless upgrades (such as a new mantis when I've got the Mantis X). Instead, I am recieving the items I haven't/cannot get to max level (both the rare weapons and supplies and human characters).

Actually yes, it does. Thanks for the info. =) (Assuming this is not a bug)

No... After you max out customization for a character you can still keep getting the same card. They will repeat. I hope this is not true for the full game.

I've played like 100 games using the avenger and still have yet to unlock a scope for assault rifles.
Need to get rid of this random roll bull**** until you at least unlock the first level of a gun. Have a certain pistol at 8, and not one single vindicator drop.

How many unlocks are there then?
I must have unlocked the Male Human Adept at least thirteen times. Same if not more with my Male Human Engineer.
And the +12500 XP mean nothing if I already have it on level 20.

This system was implemented so that people keep playing for something other than winning and getting high scores. Guess what, it works. And I actually love it.
