There will be classes and builds that can move through the game fastest and easiest. Those are kings.

Exactly.

The front runner will probably be Vanguards in terms of speed. They were the fastest clearing class in ME2 and they probably will be again.  Soldiers do more damage and do it more safely, but a Vanguard can get through a mission faster.

The issue is that they're also one of the riskiest. Without dying, a Vanguard will always get through an encounter and on to the next faster than any other class due to Charge. But you have to take into account the deaths that inevitably occur.

The other classes might surpass the Vanguard if they're able to stay alive longer.

From what I've seen in the demo, Infiltrators will be crazy powerful this game. 10+ second duration for tactical cloak, sabotage, incinerate, sticky grenades, disruptor + cryo ammo.... but overall, I think the classes are remarkably balanced this time around. They all seem capable of inflicting major damage on the enemy in their own way.

Adepts might really have a chance to pull ahead here. Stasis bubble is extremely powerful.

Soldier with widow was even more deadly than the infiltrator...that AR in ME2 when maxed had no match, considering my type of gameplay

My personal favourite was a Widow Infiltrator in 2, absolutely lethal.

Pretty much this

Adept. The Gods of ME3. (Well I hope) They were beast in ME1 if you got them the Assault Rifle.

why take the AR? the pistol was better then the AR in ME1. ive never thought "wasteing" five points in armor to use the best gun in the game was ever a bad idea.

adepts are my favorite class too. ME1 allowed me to play an adept-like vangaurd with singularity, and ME2 gave me a fun adept(on lower difficulties). i think the adept and the engineer will be the two weakest classes in the game. less weapons + more enemy protections = harder gameplay.

all i know is i think singularity and bionades are AWFULL signature powers. singularity needs to be instacast, and bionades need to create biotic enhancment feilds instead of warpslopsions. the adepts a redundant blower-upper. cryo blast does better CC then biotics. im not sure what makes adepts unique, other then the fact that i love jedis and star wars. what the hell, i think i just figured out why ive convinced myself ME is good. its becasue im pretending its star wars.

i can complain about the adept all day. i think i should say i like the adept, in theory.

I would say probably engineer or vanguard, the engineer with both drone and turret seems very good at holding the enemy back and the vanguard can't be killed with the nova exploit.

Seemed to be my experience with it too.  I had genuine difficulty telling Normal from Insanity in the demo, and without a sniper rifle no less.

Tactical Cloak is just ridiculous now.  You can get teammates up without breaking cloak, and then go behind cover somewhere else.  You don't even have to shoot dudes to win in normal combat.

I was playing on Gold and only managed to die by an Atlas grabbing me if I screwed up in the timing of my backflip. Not a single thing could kill me besides the stupid Atlas melee...

EDIT: As Vanguard.

Wrong if you tried playing insanity with anything other than a soldier it's nearly impossible. Not impossible but close to. (Sentinel can be used as well if your elite level shooter) All adept powers were useless because everybody had armor or shields. and I think that ME3 powers were built a little better to help make it possible to be dominate with more classes. In the long run I think sentinel will be very powerful.

Bonus power Protector Drone. Looking at the game files it can incapacitate and has 3 the three target talent too.

So one bonus power everyone can get and a different use of limited grenade everyone get anyway.
Yup, it change all for sure.

Tali can summon one Drone (probably Protector) but we don't know if she gets both Sabotage and Overload (Teammates only get 4 powers). Would be unlikely since she needs to have two bonus powers. Protector Drone would be one probably Energy Drain for the other.
Even better if she can though because 2 Chain Overloads are better then 1. Remove 3-6 shields/barriers instantly and stun organics or 2 large AoE overheat/explode guns and hack AI. Even got Incinerate for armour.

I don't think Tali will actually loose powers.

Infiltrator hands down.  With Tactical cloak being buffed on all fronts but cooldown, and barely even nerfed there.  And if you can bypass enemies and hit checkpoints like you could in 2, all the better, as this'll allow you to mitigate any bull**** level scaling that might be in the game.

No. Just no. Go youtube an insanity playthrough of 2 with any class and you'll see players absolutely dominate.

I personally have played ME2 Insanity with every class bar Engineer (will get around to it, my engineer is still stuck in ME1) and its absolutely possible to own the game. Widow infiltrator was the most lethal, vanguard the most fun, sentinel the tankiest, adept and soldier tied for the most boring (warp bombs and shooting, yawn),

I have a level 18 engineer with a tempest V. Nothing can kill him(until that gold match where I got surrounded by three atlas' at once.)

The difference is one Drone can be killed easily. 3 On the otherhand can be a lot more difficult especially when they all have stagger attacks. Don't know what Grenades you are talking about.

Actually Tali will only get 4 powers. All teammates get 4 powers.

Yeah, Infiltrator is best in ME2 anyway, not soldier, proof:

The cooldown on TC is a lot shorter if you break cloak early.

Hmm... Engineer with 200% power cooldown and an overload that can take out around (dont quote me on this) 3200 to barrier and like 2600 ( again not sure if exact) to shields... sign me up

King of classes is subjective, dependant on the person's preferred playstyle.  Fastest most likely will be Vanguard, although for me I go by the motto "the best defense is a good offense".  Looking at ME3's class powers Infiltrator now has the top spot for damage per shot.  Soldier has 50% damage for Adrenaline Rush compared to Infiltrator's 130% damage for Tactical Cloak.  Huge difference in damage compared to ME2's.

You're talking about a single-player game. There is no king.

That said, Vanguard.

Pretty sure the ME2 boards came to a concensus that Soldiers did it better than Infiltrators because of AR giving them a damage boost.

Course I'm just saying what I saw over there. Of course it can be agreed that regardless of which one you say is better. Soldiers and Infiltrators were pretty much the speed demons bullet rapists of Insanity in ME2.

No discussion that for easiest playthrough its infiltrator.

Large damage, you cannot be killed if you cloak correctly, you counter all turrets and similar mech with sabotage. You even got nice ammo powers.

You dont really need your team, but bringing some overload/concussive and warp/stasis team members then you cant really fail.

Eh, the damage boost from tactical cloak is even bigger IIRC.  But the point was Infiltrators don't even have to fight, which  is a good thing on Insanity as fights take forever.  It's still just as hard having to sneak around like that, but at least it turns 15 minute fights into 3 minute hide and seek games instead.
