As the title says, this will be an LP of Fallout 2, except instead of following the story of Fallout 2, this will chronicle the journey of a hardcore BioWare fan as he endeavours towards saving his beloved BSN and BioWare from certain destruction!

Now, I should state that any and everything posted in this LP is intended to be comedic and light hearted, not malicious or mean-spirited. I apologize if any offense is taken as a result of this thread.

Let's see our protagonist - a (stereo)typical white knight BSN forumite.

Posted Image

We'll call him Paragon01. I don't want to risk a LOCKDOWN for naming someone here (even if it's a parody).

Being a typical hardcore gamer, Paragon01's not physically capable nor does he work well with other people. However, he's very smart (or at least thinks he is, as demonstrated by his posts on the forum) and has great Perception, even noticing the most minute flaws or details in his favourite hardcore RPGs like Mass Effect.

He excels at three things:

Speech - despite not being able to talk to people in real life, he's able to take on the most negative of topics with long, elaborate posts, snide one liners or even gifs telling people to GTFO. Anything to de-legitimize those horrible trolls from 4chan.
Unarmed - even though he's afraid of physical confrontation, he builds himself up for the day when he could take those mean bullies on infront of everyone, fantasizing about how he'd teach them their place. (Plus I hate the ToT.)
Science - this one is obvious. How else would he be able to discuss the topic of Tali's sweat without researching her Biology first?

Our Paragon01 has two distinctive traits about him:

Bloody Mess - He loves to see violence in his games.
Good Natured - He doesn't like violence in his life.

Not at all paradoxical.

Best gaem evar!

...

Our hero begins his journey and is summoned into a private conversation with one of the Community Managers...

Posted Image

Posted Image: You look awful, Ms. Merizan! You used to be so beautiful!

Posted Image: It's because I'm always working and travelling from airport to airport. But it's more than that, Paragon01. The BSN is in trouble...

Posted Image: What are you talking about Jessica? It's fine! Mass Effect 3 will be great and Dragon Age 2 was good, just not as good as Origins! It's just the sexists and misogynists at 4chan, reddit and metacritic. There's no proof that they have a legitimate gripe! Don't let it get to you!

Posted Image: No, Paragon01, the problem is real.

Posted Image: Oh, okay. If you say it's real, then it's real.

Posted Image: ... Right. Ehem... There is hope, however. A slim hope that few know of. The old disks speak of an item called the Infinity Engine Creation Kit.

Posted Image: You should go.

Posted Image: *gigglesqueeeeeeee* I won't let you down!

Hope you enjoyed it.

Sweet. Can't want to see it. I'm use to LP's as videos. This is new to me. Not as fun without images though :P Imgur NEVER works on here. You gotta use something like Photobucket from my experience. Which sucks because Imgur is so much quicker and easier.

These stats are hilarious. I'd love to see you do a renegade one too and just make fun of all the BSN stereotypes.

Are you both unable to see the pictures? Should I reupload on imageshack? (Funnily enough, I tend to have problems with Photobucket)

Yeah, probably. Idk why Imgur is like this. It just gives you the white box thing. :pinched:

...Is it terrible that I JUST noticed the G.E.C.K. has a Baldur's Gate logo on it? After how many years?

EDIT: Nevermind, that is a very convincing shoop. Props.

The Story So Far:

We have just met our hero, Paragon01 of the BSN. Having been called into the presence of one Jessica Merizan, he is informed of BioWare's dire straits. She presents him with one solution: the Infinity Engine Creation Kit, the one thing that would restore BioWare to it's rightful place. She orders him to find this Infinity Engine Creation Kit, and to retrieve it.

Posted Image: Oh yeah, that's it. Fetch that MacGuffin. Fetch it good. Fetch it real good, Paragon.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 1:

Our hero lies awake in bed, thinking about the grand adventures he's sure to have. He spent most of last night preparing. Jessica Merizan, the Queen of Ferelden herself came to him, requesting his aid in saving BioWare and the BSN from certain destruction.

He had packed all the essentials - his laptop, several copies of the Mass Effect and Dragon Age games, his Mass Effect 3 mouse & headphones with exclusive DLC bonuses, his Liara and Tali shirts to remind him of what he's fighting for, a Garrus action figure so that he'd never be separated from his BRO, as well as a snug N7 themed jacket.

Thank God for the BioWare Store, he thought. It offers the largest range of BioWare related products at cheap cheap prices. A bookmarked website for any BioWare fan.

However, just before he leaves for his journey in the morning, he's stopped by Jessica Merizan, the BioWare Community Manager who gave him this quest in the first place.

Posted Image: Paragon01! Good, you haven't left yet. I still had a few things to say to you, but I needed some time to work on the E3 presentation. I hadn't even told you where to go!

Posted Image: I would go to the ends of the earth to save BioWare, Ms Merizan, so don't feel bad.

Posted Image: Good to know. We need all our most faithful fans in this time of need. Well, right now, we don't know where the Infinity Engine Creation Kit is. So, in order to find it, you need to talk to people who may be able to lead you to it. There is a community nearby, to the east. Your first stop is there.

Posted Image: So they know where this mystical Infinity Engine Creation Kit is located?

Posted Image: I don't know, but they seem more versed than we are in these things. They make most of their money by hunting and trading. They live off the land and are neither a wealthy or poor community. We have a good working relationship with them, so you'll find that it's a fairly friendly community for a BioWare fan such as yourself.

Posted Image: Will... will there be trolls and people who hate BioWare games?

Posted Image: Maybe there's some people who have a bad opinion of our games but-

Posted Image: >=(

Posted Image: You'll be fine, Paragon01. Now, before you leave, I have a couple things to give you. I don't know how much good it will do you, but here. I present to you, a free copy of 1st ed. Deception and a brand new, just released Mass Effect High School Manga!

Posted Image: Do you also have a lighter, Ms Merizan? Or a second edition copy of Deception?

Posted Image: Oops, look at the time, I have a flight to catch. Make contact with that community in the east and don't insult their way of life. Remember that and you'll be okay. Good luck. I should go.

...

As our hero leaves his beloved BSN, he wonders for just a moment whether Jessica's parting gifts were less than ideal for his long and demanding trip. Was he ill-equipped and only offered worthless trinkets by BioWare? He of course, puts the thought out of his mind lest he be an entitled PC gamer.

...

His trek east takes some time, and while the stress of travelling such a long distance starts to get to him, our hero decides to power through it by putting Ms Merizan's gifts to use. He first decides to read Deception.

Posted Image

"Use your imaginations, people. I'm trying to have someone else's breakfast here!" - Kai Leng

...

Posted Image: Hey, that was great! I was totally wrong, Deception was totally awesome and it passed quite a bit of time! I regret ever complaining about it. I'm totally satisfied with it. I guess I better make camp and start up again in the morning.

With his laptop sadly in the the charger for the moment, our hero decides to spend his time reading the new Mass Effect manga.

Posted Image

(Yes, it's an actual manga not just random fanart.)

Inspired, Paragon01 starts to let his mind wander, and now fully charged, he takes out his laptop to once again play the Mass Effect 3 demo. As he sits there impressed by the fluid animations, he ponders about the metaphysical implications of a reality similar to the current Mass Effect universe, except set in a high school environment like in the manga.

Posted Image: I want to be a Gym Teacher!

After a few hours of blasting enemies, once as a Soldier, then annihilating them as a Vanguard, his laptop inevitably runs out of power. Completely immersed in the demo, he only now just notices how dark the sky is and how late it in fact was. Sheepishly, he sets out his sleeping bag and prepares to go to sleep. As he lays down his head and softly drifts off into sleep, our hero takes solace in knowing that it was a night well spent. That his experience of today's events would help him face the dangers of tomorrow.

Posted Image

(We get enough EXP to level up and I raise two of Paragon's tagged Skills: Unarmed and SCIENCE!)

...

The morning after presents no real challenges or notable events. Things are going quite smoothly for our plucky hero. Later in the day, Paragon spots a few buildings in the horizon, "this must be it", he thinks to himself. Eagerly, he approaches the settlement and once arriving, he sees a few people going about their business. Ignoring them, our hero notices a signboard.

Posted Image

Posted Image: Perhaps the information here will aid in finding the Infinity Engine Creation Kit. At the very least, I'll at least know where I am no-

Paragon recoils and gasps in shock.

Posted Image: What would these inferior savages know about the Infinity Engine Creation Kit?! All they know is how to prove that BioWare is the best developer ever.

...

Posted Image

Posted Image: Hmm... why is the notice board only half finished?

-------------------| (End of Chapter 1)

Hope you all enjoyed it!

CrustyBot, for making this thread, I could sing your praises right now.

But my Intelligence is only a 1 and my Speech skill is only at 35%, so I'll just say "Grunt."

This satire isn't really going to stir up a lot here in Off-topic where people are pretty laid back.

Anyway,

End of line.

It's an interesting start. You don't have to be too politically correct with the satire, it's always a tough balancing act with parody; a clever quip can be interpreted as a hurtful joke. It'd be interesting to see more of BioWare factions: Talimancers, Bronies/Pegasisters, that sort of thing.

Wait... Paragon01 has no sneak skill? o_O He can't lurk a topic? 75% of those reading this topic are likely doing that as we speak. Hmm.

I'm betting CDProject Red will be the Den.

Also, Talimancers as the Shi or the V13 Deathclaws, Bronies as Gecko, and the Cerberus crowd as Vault City.
