Hey! I resent that.

And I resent you trolling this thread, wanna stop now?

To the OP, I think its a valid concern but I don't think they should lose credits/XP because of it. Maybe just have a tag that marks them as "Not reliable" when you see them in the lobby?

Why would there need to be a 1000 credit fee for leaving, when potentially you lose alot more by not waiting for a whipe + score screen? Feels like I wouldn't care if I lost 10k or 11k ...

So, I eventually find a game, right, and it's Bronze on Firebase Ghost. Easy? Apparently not. My two teammates both went down in round 1. Fine, whatever. I was trying out a new character and was going to rely on my teammates, but apparently I had to step it up. Eventually I get to round 3 and think it's been a little empty for a while.

Both my teammates quit on me leaving my level 5 ass to do the mission solo. WTF? The game doesn't even tell you that a teammate quit and all you get is a warning saying you'll lose your progress when you do. I think it should charge you 1,000 credits for every game you quit and it increases by 1,000 for every consecutive game you quit. Even if you have no credits it should make you go negative.

It's a multiplayer game. People rely on you, you can't just go quitting willy nilly and leaving everyone hanging.

What about people with a bad connection that suddenly disconnect? I don't want to get charged everytime my connection goes haywire. How will the servers be able to determind if the player quit manually or got disconnected?

I'm in complete disagreement with the OP. If you start penalizing people for leaving a match, then you'll have people disabling their network cards or pulling a cord instead of just leaving the match. Then what, you start penalizing people that disconnect?

Penalties solve nothing. Instead, the game rewards you for sticking it out to the end. If penalties were instituted, then you'd likely have people purposely dying in an attempt to sabotage the round in order to get to the lobby so they can leave.

People dropping out of games is nothing new to mp games. If it's happening to you a lot, then perhaps you have no business playing mp games? Just like your recommendation that people with bad connections shouldn't play mp games.

All in all, useless thread. This isn't a big issue. You should try making friends online instead of just making complaint threads.

I guess when the game crashes, we should be penalized too, huh?

IMO, rewarding people for sticking with it is better than punishing them for quitting. If you make the rewards for sticking with it good enough that dropping out isn't worth it, then you're going to cut down a lot on people who drop out right away.

On the other hand, I do wish there was a way to "bank" XP or credits, as there's been more than once where I had to leave toward the end of a match (a network issue, which is incredibly rare for me so I don't need to hear any stupid comments about how I "shouldn't be playing because I have lag", or real-life concerns) and had to give up all those glorious XP and credits.

Maybe if you stick it out past round 5 and you're the only one left, you can have the opportunity to quit the mission early but still keep your XP/credits? Or at least some of them?

Retarded thread is retarded.

1: The game already punishes you with no XP or money when leaving.

2: Even with good connection, accidental deconnexion, IRL problem, power shortage, provider issue, bugs, crashes, important phone call, etc etc... happen.

3: Much more important and useful things to fix, as setting Bronze as starting option, and being able to join as group.

Why is there always at least one person on every gaming forum saying people should be punished for quitting? Boggles the mind. This will never happen. This game isn't PvP. If people want to quit and leave you out to dry then let them.

I don't think there is a good system to handle people logging that doesn't unfairly punish people who get a disconnect due to lag or whatever. Now if there was a penalty for logging when you are dead and in spectator mode I might be ok with that. I'm tired of wave 1-3 and someone goes down and immediately logs cause they haven't earned any credits yet so they don't want to wait and see if the rest of the team can pull it off. Really irritating cause then your team is down a player for the rest of the game.

It's quite clear that saying the premise of the inital post is daft and unworkable, and the OP is being deliberately obtuse is evidence of trolling. *facepalm*

Best post in this thread so far.

I've quit the game several times, but it has always been due to A) bugs which made it meaningless to continue the game, or B) insane lag caused by some other player.

^ I agree. People dropping out of a MP match is not a big deal, and happens literally all the time.

There are worse things. I was playing Two Worlds 2 MP (don't laugh, the MP was awesome), and some users figured out a way to kill people who'd joined their match. Tell me that wasn't annoying. You'd be part of the way through a mission, and some turd would just freaking kill you, and you'd be back in the lobby. Now that is reason to complain.

If you lag a lot you honestly shouldn't even be playing MP.

Oh so the mp is only for the special people. Gotcha *rolls eyes*

No, but you if you're lagging you're most likely not having fun and you're not doing your team any favors so why are you playing?

Some may people have an emergency or they have been invited by another friend. I mean come on, would you rather play with some stranger or play with friends?

Not everyone has friends that play ME3.

sorry sir, but you're acting like a retard self entittled ****.
anyway not everyone drops due of lag or connection failures..
a lot of them are caused by the host having horrible upload rate..
the matchmaker setting you in a game in the other side of the world.
or the master server dropping you randomly.
which happens a lot in all accounts, dont put all the blame on people who d'ced with no information or why.

Plus, after a while most can solo Bronze league. And a team of 3 good players can go all the way on Silver and perhaps Gold, if they're that good.

Some people leave the game when they die and are executed, specially if they're just starting with the demo. They don't know better. Heck, I did that in my fist game when I couldn't figure out anything and, well, with settings on  "any league" it dropped my ass right on a Gold league sessions with my noobiest level 1.

Five days of compulsive gaming later and then with N7 120, all items/chars unlocked, most sessions/missions I played were easily done with 3, even 2 players on Bronze and Silver while Gold is just a bit more demanding on the focus/concentration with a bit of luck on waves objectives part.

If you're in a squad with 4 people then quitting isn't a big deal because theres about a 70% chance you get replaced.

I'd rather someone with connection issues quit than just sit there and be unable to play. Had someone yesterday in a silver match that starting about round 2 was just flickering in the starting area and didn't leave the whole time even though he couldn't move. I thought he was AFK until the team wiped on round 9 and the enemies came for him (It seemed like they could barely see him since he kept flickering on and off) and he started shooting back at him.

So this dude just sat there for 7 rounds, trying to leech experience and credits off of us while doing nothing.

It's a demo so it can't be taken that seriously, but unless they improve the matchmaking in the game I won't be able to stand much multiplayer.

It acutally does. In the right corner where the kills are listed it always lists players who leave or join. And if you dont take a look at the status there then you are probably one of those people who also dont notice how a teammate got killed, run to revive said teammate and end up being killed by the same enemy/turret because they weren't paying attention to what killed their teammate.

Not good enough. When a teammate goes down you get an audio cue that tells you there is important information displayed there. If a player leaves you will only see it if you happen to be looking there the moment he or she leaves.

The only time I have quit a match was when my XBox locked up. My XBox locked up 5 or 6 times yesterday. Twice during the extraction.

My only problem is when the host leaves and everybody gets kicked.

I find the fact that the game drops players into existing games an adequate solution to occasional dropped players. If you entire teams quits on you, then your just sh*t out of luck.

Fifa 12 does it. I think it's fair for ME3 as well.
