Mordin popping out of a manhole cover? Why am I not surprised. Also, Liara and Tali in a schoolgirl outfit strangely appropriate.

I can give you 3 reasons.GodWood wrote...
It's suprising ME isn't big in Japan because Bioware's new direction for the series has got Japan written all over it.
~ Women in revealing impractical outfits jumping around firing guns.
~ Lots of yuri/yaoi lovin'.
~ Two sweet innocent virgins fighting over the big strong PC.
~ Twoo wuv and idealism being the superior moral code.
~ Hanar. (although they've been there from the start)

I really don't understand how some people can like Japanese anime :/ it's just so weird and I don't like it AT ALL
Thank you, I hate when people think anime=manga.Phaedon wrote...

Different tastes. Some of us never grew up with any kind of Japanese influence, and that explains why we can't find much appeal to them.

Well it was a manga first so it's not that different from western stuff, the anime is just an adaption from the manga. But it is ture anime shows do let you hear what the characters are thinking adaption or not.Phaedon wrote...

I, not having grown up with anime, consider that being able to hear what the character is thinking weird. It's quite common in western comics, but very rare in animation.
That doesn't make it bad, just different.
EDIT: Though yes, I did find the build-up satisfying.

Chibi style is always best for parodies...
Chibi Wrex = funny by itself with no dialogue.
So who's the brave soul who makes this his/her avatar?

You can blame the otaku for why people give anime a bad name nowadays.Creid-X wrote...
That was pretty cute, don't give it too much thought guys it's just a way to broaden the Japanese audience.
Btw I'm pretty much out of the manga/anime scene (was big on it around 7-8 years ago) but it is sad to see it is now associated with tentacles and schoolgirls, there are some really awesome pieces of media from japanese authors like Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Evangelion, Ninja Scroll or Monster.

Holy crap you just named 3 of my favorite anime and two I think are creepy as hell but still very good. (not from the three)Creid-X wrote...

ITT: People jump on the "manga/anime is tentacle porn and stupid!" bandwagon without actually appreciating the art or interesting style.
Millions upon millions of people would like to disagree with you.
