Who ends up pregnant, and the Renegade is forced to pay child support for the rest of his life, because he was too "badass" to wear a condom.

I'm Paragade, to be fair. Some of the Paragon choices seemed really stupid to me, such as stopping/not helping Chorban study the Keepers. Even some of the Paragon answers seem to be more inclined towards recklessness and emotion, such as when you back up the Quarian in ME2 against the Volus and C-Sec officer.

Jack **** as usual, I can go pick off Chronicles of Riddick, but to be fair, if Vin Diesel saw this forum, he'd probably punch someone.

To be fair, that's sort of a defamation of character. You assume certain things about one or a few Renegade characters and universalize that idea onto all "Renegades". You're passing judgement, basically, or making baseless assumptions.

Nope. Thats the "stupid". Stupid and "Renegade" (doing what it takes/self centered) does not automatically rhyme.

After all. Most of the history of men is one where those that did what it took ended up ruling nations and carving out empires and the rest did the heavy lifting. Sorry. But its the truth.

I haven't got a problem with pure paragons or renegades, its just when they attack each other like this. I mean all this thread was made for was to cause a fight.

It was certainly meant to stimulate debate, and it has, save for the occasional weepy anti-trolling trolling like yours.

I would love to see this happen to all players, Paragon, Renegade, or mixed. It would be a good scene. But then people would come on here and throw a fit about it.

Some could say the same about being Renegade.

It's really easy to assume and judge, but I assure you, both Paragon and Renegade are acceptable.

Same here, but the reason the paragons took the sucker punch on the chin to start this thread is because so far the trend in the ME games seems to be Paragon/Reward, Renegade/Punish, when that's not how things work in reality nor does it take into account unintended consequences.  I absolutely think certain decisions from every area (paragon, renegade, indecisive/backtracking (like killing Maleon but keeping the Genophage cure)) should end up being a negative in the game with consequences to your characters and circumstance.  And hopefully more signfiicant than just a number on the war readiness scale.

So why even try to take a rational approach?

Some of us like to try to roleplay. Shocking, I know.

Point is if you accept that Balak is setting up nukes and letting you disarm them instead of blowing you up while you try then you can also accept the 'stupid' paragon decision to actually do it. What's the point to try to roleplay 'realisticism' in a situation that does not make much sense? You have to suspend disbelieve anyway. So you ignore the stupid parts and look at it as it is. Let him go, save the hostages. Kill him and doom the hostages. There isn't more to it. I don't know how many cops or soldiers would let hostages die to kill a criminal/enemy. Usually they don't get far anyway. So mostly they first secure the hostages and then track the evil dude and bring him in.
