you can still be skinny and defined, you don't have to have overt boulders on your arms to be a soldier. Guns and biotics decide battles, you do not have to be the female Vega

Oh have you been in the military then?

Because I was a rifleman in the norwegian army and I had a girl in my squad that were as skinny as Femshep yet hauled  40kg worth of gear in a backpack and a MG3 with ammo up a mountain every day. We used to call it being indian strong as opposed to arnie strong.

I imagine FemShep being bigger than that if she were real. UFC females that I have seen look way tougher and bigger than the chick in the OP

The whole upper body seems a bit out of proportion to me.  Arms too skinny and long and shoulders and waist too thin, especially in comparison to her thighs.  Also her stomach is sunk too far which makes her look emaciated.  Maybe it's just the lighting in the screenshots though.

I don't really mind one way or the other because, you know, fighting ancient aliens in space, I can suspend my disbelief pretty far (and while yes, some reality is required, mileage seriously varies rendering this issue opinion rather than fact), but wouldn't suddenly gaining body mass between games also be something of a problem?

She's a soldier, not a UFC fighter.  She needs to be built for endurance as well as speed and power, which tends to mean skinnier.

For F's sake, if you don't like how she looks, put her in cloth. That's what I think and it's what I will do. It's not like Shep will be going around naked all game long. Put her in the Alliance Officier outfit and the N7 Defender armor and she looks every bit as badass as she is. Seriously.

Shepards an elite. I know you get all sorts in the ranks but I've never seen someone out of shape in special forces.
