Boob armor, if it were to exist in reality, would most certainly not properly protect anyone's boobs from incoming blows or projectiles based on the fact that it is structurally inferior.
There is a reason why all fighting women in human history have worn body armor in the same shape as that of their male counterparts and that is because armor is supposed to distribute and absorb attack energy.
Boob armor would be very bad at this because of its shape.

Okay, I feel better now.

Good post.

We actually have better non-boob functional armor in the game, the Cerberus Assault Armor for example does not have boob shaped structural weaknesses on the chest piece.:)
Cerberus scientists knew what they were doing when designing that armor.

Yeah, wouldn't boob armor actually be more likely to direct a melee weapon directly into her chest (right between the breasts) instead of deflecting it away from her?

They could put a wedge between the boobies like Hawke had in his "promo" armor.

Not to mention if she fell, she'd crack her sternum because of the localized force.

Read an article on Kotaku about this very issue; pretty interesting read.

I don't even know who the hell that is.

But when you say "muscular women are ugly," and then I call you out on it, and then you say, "oh no no no they're beautiful, just not attractive," then you're backpedaling.

And you're still dumb.  And narrow-minded.  Because that's BS reasoning along with your backpedaling right there.

So, you think everyone is beautiful, and you're physically attracted to everyone? Oh, aren't you so trendy and open-minded! I just wish everyone could be like you and have no personal taste or likes/dislikes when it comes to attractiveness.

It isn't backpedaling to say that you can find the beauty and value in someone, yet don't find them visually attractive. I never said women with muscles were beautiful. I said I could find beauty in them, value in them. If you think beauty is only an aesthetic quality, then maybe you're narrow-minded. Video games are a visual medium and yes, I want to see a fictional character who appeals to me visually. So, muscular women in video games are not something I want to see.

Attractiveness is a quality that causes desire or interest in someone. I don't find women with muscles attractive visually. That is not a flaw in someone. Some people don't find tall woman attractive. That is not a flaw. Some people don't find people who smoke attractive. That is not a flaw. Stop being so judgmental and insultive to people who do not agree with your perception of attractiveness. I thought you were better than that.

With this, her physique is fine; but it still is just a (very good, in my opinion) excuse for it. She should still have some muscle.

Spec Ops must be prepared for any situation and surprises, if the exoskeleton fails during combat because it takes a hit etc. it suddenly turns into lots of extra weight to hump around, if you took the exoskeletons for an excuse to have an underdeveloped out of shape body you wont be able to move and you'll get shot and killed. Spec Ops and top of the line military personnel must perform well under any condition, even unarmed and without the help of any technical equipment - in the case the get captured and have to escape for example.

There is no excuse for being out of shape on the battlefield.

I agree, being a soldier of any sort is very physically taxing. Nowadays, that exoskeleton would certainly be nothing more than a steel shell that traps you; in ME, it is quite possible that it is in the form of nanobots on top of built into the armor. But, the person should be in shape to be able to carry it without being over-encumbered by it because it takes several minutes to put on and take off armor.

Not to mention a trained and fit body has better chances of surviving heavy injuries.

If I actually played ManShep more than occasionally, I'd probably be annoyed I can't play a less muscular looking guy.

Though Vega might help out by making even male Shepard look puny by comparison.

Body-sliders would be key to victory!

Maybe in the next game?

There's no such thing as good functional armor in this franchise. All of it is stupid but looks cool. That's the only point; to look cool. Let me say that one more time; looking cool is the only purpose.

I felt the same way about gamepad support and moving hair.

But really; that wouldn't be a bad idea, although considering the quality of the outfits we can wear, its not really feasible; they run the risk of getting really distorted.

Before we get carried away by the arguments, I'd like to point out that femshep has proven her strength in ME 2 on several occasions. Headbutting a Krogan, and puching out a Yahg (3-4 times her size?) I'm not exactly against her size here(in ME3, but it is skinny), but she doesn't look like she could muster the power for that sort of stuff. But who can say what cybernetics do to you? After all Shep is a cyborg of sorts.

*shrugs* Anderson's run annoys me more than femsheps body, and I'm not exactly burning Bioware in effigy over the run yet..

Thats not true, some of the armors are very well designed and offer good protection and movement, they're designed like knight armor. If you can design a better one or if you have any ideas for improvements go ahead. The problem is we currently do not have any real full ballistic body armors besides very cumbersome plate carriers and bomb squad suits.

Hey now!  Adventuring is hard work. Plus one can't argue with the half-tuck. Note even Elana started rocking the half tuck.

Roman
Centurians/bigshots had ROID armors! Plus, I just think that some
people might have bigger chests, and having hard armor press against
them might be bad. I'm not 100% defending it, but it would just make
women with bigger breasts impossible to wear.

But maybe they could resolve it in some other way... :)

That looks like some ornamental armor, something used in parades and not in combat. Romans used chainmail and segmented plates as armor.

And that's why it's funny. Because shes so tiny and skinny and clearly doesn't have much powa in her arms.
