The funny thing is, sex does't actually sell all that well. People tend to focus on the sexy thing (be it a person/hologram/whatever), and disregard everything, including what the ad/game/movie is called. Not always, but guys especially tend to stop caring that the game is called Mass Effect or how well done the characters are when Miranda's butt is front and center.

Now, onto the topic; it doesn't matter. Women simply do not have the muscle mass that men do, even in the military, where strength is not preferable. Endurance is, and endurance does not make huge muscles. I haven't seen the femshep pictures everyone's on about, but all I can say is that women in the military are skinny already, and SpecOps soldiers are even more in-shape than regular soldiers, so it makes sense that a N7 (female) soldier would be skinny as heck.

One thing I've noticed many devs struggle with is the depiction of arms, especially forearms. I'm sure it's quite difficult to do right in a video game, but femshep's twig arms are still in effect.

Honestly the only thing that looks odd to me is her arms, but I think the only reason they look odd compared to ME2 is because it seems they tried to add some definition on her arms. Looks weird, but that's the way it is.

Where the heck did you find a picture of femshep in her underwear? Is this game going to be like Dragon Age: Origins, where you don't have to wear any armor? (I doubt it.)

Modding. The underwear is apart of the game, but it's only used in certain situations(IE, most probably a sex scene).

This is close to 200 years in the future, so it is quite possible that the armor doubles as an exo-skelelton. FemShep looks fine imo. If it bothers, remember she's a freaking cyborg by this point in the game, and she has all sorts of bone/muscle upgrades to make her superstrong.

To those comparing the models between the last to games, it wouldn't have been that much of an issue if it weren't for two things.

1)John got respect in his body design, Jane didn't

2)John got respect in his casual wear design and Jane didn't.

That's the problem, they treated the main character like s**t to make her "sexy," which is ridiculous since most people who play femshep either do it for rp'ing purposes or Hale's superior VA delivery.

In fact, the weight training and actual activity that goes into playing something like tennis could get a woman with a compatible body type to this with the right diet and training focus/muscle group specialization. Easily.

As for the veins, a nice spritz of baby oil, the angle of the picture, and the exertion required to hold that weight make that not so surprising either.

No man with a body type other than ectomorph would end up with a similar density to this woman at an equal state of fitness. A man would be far more massive and thick throughout - in fact, even if he were a small boned hard gainer with high metabolism. Men simply get bigger.

She is in fantastic shape, would look like a pro in gear or out, but is not garrish enough to look like Chyna in an evening gown. Rachel McLish was far bigger than this girl and she killed in a mini. Nobody would ever mistake her for masculine.

Actually off season it'd probably be ok because she'd have a bit more body fat. I really don't like the extreme definition on women. That's why I said looks like a guy body, not because of the shape, but ... females usually have more body fat than males by nature.

Besides her arms are like 12'' maybe 12.5''. That's not big at all. Also, fitness photo shoots are like weighins. She eats nothing until they turn on the cameras, have a small amount of sugar to temporarily increase vascularity and sweat out any retained water before the cameras go on. A lot of people a couple of pages back were saying Hope Solo was hot, but the only difference between her and this woman is vascularity.

The funny thing is, it was so foreseeable that this is what femshep's body would look like after you saw her in the Kasumi dlc outfit. We knew she didn't have muscle or fat.
