Whipped this up for comparison between the dress outfit and underwear. Wowzers, big difference in the shoulder/upper arm area.

Now that I think about it, since male Shepard looks far more muscular than 99% of all solders I've met in my life (and let's not even talk about Vega), I guess there's no reason femShep couldn't be as inappropriately bulky herself.

Future 'roids!
Also, I think it's reasonable to use pro-athlete as a model for the Shepards vs. pro-soldier.
Shepard is an elite among the military.  PT is not every soldier's focus...

Oh yes, your sensationalist thread got shut down before I could post a serious response to your lame put-down/insult. I guess I get my chance to do that now: not everyone who's thin is anorexic or unhealthy, and I wouldn't put femShep into that category. Why?

Because you can find real live people who are similarly thin and extremely healthy. For example, I'm a Top Chef fan, and Padma Lakshmi is both thin AND healthy. She's no anorexic - she's a mom who eats well and exercises. Similarly, on my favorite show, The Walking Dead, Sarah Wayne Callies (aka Lori) is unbelievably skinny, but one of her co-stars (I think it was Steven Yuen) was talking about a very physical scene/sequence she'd done in a recent episode (when she was trapped in the car after the accident), and he pointed out that she's actually quite strong. He said something to the effect that she could outdo the guys on chin-ups.

I've seen pictures of actual anorexics with every bone showing, and while femShep is on the thin side, I really wouldn't put her into that category. And if her body type bothers a person THAT much, then maybe they shouldn't be staring at her in her bra and panties and should stick with armor or a nice casual outfit? With her armor on, you wouldn't even notice her build. I'm female, and I need to lose weight (which would be easier if I could get myself to start exercising again). However, I haven't felt any sudden urge to turn myself into a stick after seeing that femShep image.

If a person wants to slam women who have serious body issues and who are actually setting bad examples for other women and girls, I would suggest pointing out Demi Moore (after her downward spiral) or Lindsay Lohan as women that should not be emulated. Or go beat up on Vogue for the recent Adele cover controversy. Better still, maybe one should applaud Adele for making it clear that she's happy with herself and her weight as she did in that 60 Minutes interview, and use her as an example of someone who has a good, positive attitude about her weight and isn't influenced by anyone's idea of perfection.

Agreed.

Personally, I think Gina Carano should have been the model for the default FemShep, from head to toe.

I'll be honest, I'm pretty much just reading this thread for the images of sexy athelic women.

I really don't have a problem with the way FemShep is, but given the option I'd actually prefer she looked like the pic above. Sexy, muscular, athlelic, yes please!

And yeah, this ain't bad either...

I feel like the simple solution is to keep her clothes on. She looks perfectly fine in armor. Why do you want to run around in your underwear anyway?

Well tbh I've always felt the armour was too svelte on females in ME2, when compared to males. Hips wider than shoulders with armour looks weird.

That doesn't make her model any better. Most playthouyghs see Shepard strip down for their LI scene and she's still going to look bad. FemShep looks unhealthy.

Not sure if these will really do anything, but here are some varying screenshots of the dress. I really do not like the slit in the back.

Ugh, god I hate that outfit.... besides being a reskin of Diana Allers dress (quite possibly the most inappropriate clothing I've ever seen a war corespondant reporter wear...), there is nothing casual about those clothes whatsoever. FemShep looks more like she on her way for a hot date or a Hollywood premiere than just casually hanging around on the Normandy. <_< (on the plus side, at least the N7 Hoodie looks good on her, in my opinion

Maybe not casual for you, but I have plenty of female friends who dress similarly to that (material aside, of course) as casual wear.  Hell, my mom's casual wear is considered dressy by some people.

For someone, based on the personality they crafted for Shepard, that wear is casual wear.  It is a role playing game after all.

Really, no one has to be a tank to be strong. I have no idea about the science about it but as a boxer who fights both heavy weights and bantam weights I can tell you that I know some bantam weights who can punch harder than the heavy weights. It's mostly due to their (on in this case his) accuracy in punching. But I'm telling you, being strong doesn't mean you have to be a body building or ripped, hell most martial artists aren't ripped or even toned but they can still take down most tanks any day.

Not bad... I don't know if FemShep should be that muscular... But I like it and approve of this image.
