What's with this sudden obsession with this Gina Carano?
Week ago I never heard of her and now everyone is using her as an example for FemShep's body.
Not that I disagree, it would be much better than the current state of anorexia FemShep is in.

Was about to say the same. I follow mma a bit so I had heard of her, but tis like Femshep is Dragon Age 2 and Gina is the new Witcher.

This is a serious problem that has persisted for THREE GAMES NOW, the people who don't think so aren't aware of how reality works.

Hardened soldier = Has muscles

Foot ball cheerleader = is skinny

Which one does femshep look like?

Wot bout consistentcy yea.

in sims you can choose your body type, be fat, skinny, slightly muscled,
heavily muscled. the body types are awesome. though i'd guess since the
sims don't have much story going on that kind of feature is easy to
implement. i doubt in ME that it's that simple.

Those
body sliders change the mesh. The one I'm talking about just changes the
texture. I used the Sims just as an example of how different textures
can change a body without effecting size.

It's kinda ironic that staying the same size while being more defined would mean she's even skinnier.

I think the oddest thing is she looks really pear shaped. It's likw her legs are strong size 16 that tapers into a size 8.

Also, someone do a scaled screencap comparison to verify her shrinkage.

8 pages of a thread complaining about FemShep being too skinny to be a "soldier".

Not a single picture of Femshep linked or displayed to prove a point or serve as reference.

BSN, you win again.

There's multiple threads going now that have the images.  Go to the spoiler forum and check out the outfits.  One is lingerie (complete with a see through butt window no less).

I just wish Femshep had as much up top as she has on the bottom. She's got wide hips, a rather large posterior and thick thighs, but also has dainty shoulders and twig like arms.

This.

From the waist down she ahs muscles and is plausibly built like a soldier. But waist up she's very very thin (except boobs).

Nobody is saying thin people can't be strong. Looking at the athlete body type thing is kind of inaccurate just given that different kinds of workouts will give you different muscles. FemShep is not doing things that give you muscles like a gymnast or figure skater.

Oh and by the way, i find it ironic that there is a release of a triggering femshep body on National Eating Disorder Awareness Week.

I don't intend to offend or for you to take this the wrong way—but you are taking this a bit too far. Seriously. I have a really good friend who has had an eating disorder since she was twelve years old. She has struggled her entire life. Now she holds therapy peer groups and seminars at local schools. Once I remember asking her how she handled things so well now, considering the media always has something going on with weight issues.

She told me that it was her responsibility to maintain herself. That if you go around blaming everyone else for your disorder, you'll always find a “trigger” or a reason to relapse.

If femShep is triggering for you, perhaps ME3 will have to be one of those sacrifices you make in your struggle. Drug addicts usually have to give up friendships, alcoholics have to give up their favorite haunts or restaurants. It's your responsibility to maintain yourself and if you see something that triggers something in you, it's up to you to take that step, no matter how painful it is, and extract yourself from it.

I am not blaming anyone else for my disorder, I am responsibel for it. However, it is ableist to tell people that because they have a mental health issue with something they should just avoid it. I never said they had to change it or anything, it would be great if they did but it is too late. But i DO NOT think that i should just ingore it and be quiet about it. This is a major issue in society and if everyone was just quiet about these issues, things would never change. I have a voice, and I am going to use it.

That is the same as telling a minority that they should jsut avoid racism video games or a homosexual they should avoid homophobic video games. It is ableism.

Ziggeh they did the whole kissing and hugging in ME1. If they can do it in ME1 they can do it in ME2 and ME3. You continue to say that it's complexity, I say it's laziness because if they can do it for one game they can do it for the other 2. Hell they did the kissing and hugging for DA:O. Again if they can do it for that game they should be able to do it for the others.

It's very cleverly edited, much more so that the ME2 scenes. It may even be CG in places rather than using the engine.

We'll probably only see femshep in her underwear one time in the entire game, so I don't think it'll be that hard for us to imagine she looks like an MMA fighter under her clothes.

The only real problem with that pic is that the elbow looks wierd. But then the animation probably wasn't made with the idea that she'd be in underwear.

Why? Because people with mental health issues are never harassed or treated in  a discrimanatory manner? You may think that, but it isn't true at all.

while actors usually focus their training regimen to attain a certain shape, soldier training is actually often detrimental to the muscles unless you have a lot of extra body fat.

Bob maybe then again maybe not. Either way it still reeks of laziness instead of actually putting the time and effort into actually making ME2 better with romance scenes.

You entirely missed my point.

Lets say you have 2 main character models, Mr. 1 and Mrs. 2. You have 3 love interests, A, B, and Liara. Given that each main character can romance 2 people you have to test 4 sets of romance interactions.

Now lets say thet add a new character model for each. You now have to test 8 sets of interactions, you've not doubled the workload associated with these interactions, as some work is carried over, but you have increased it dramatically. Testing needs to be done throughout.

Now lets go back to one model each and change the love interests to C, D, E, F, G, H, I, Liara and Kelly. Whao, 12 sets to code and test right off the bat. Add back in those two models and look, 24 romance sets to check! Throw in a slider and we're really off to the races!

And this is entirely ignoring the fact that it's a whole other game. The resources are different and the challenges have changed. The idea that this is somehow a one to one relationship and they just decided they couldn't be bothered this time around is frankly ludicrous.
