Is anyone else in a possition of helplessness (apart from the people not in NA who's release date is later), where they wont be able to play when the game is released?
I am having an awful time installing Windows 7, but am also determined not to go back to xp after (only :[ ) two days of attempted installs.
With the steam preload today, i honestly feel like...
doing something that I otherwise wouldn't

Like waiting how long? ..I'll probably have to wait till next week. Unless my free shipping is godly- which I don't expect it to be.

If you downloaded Windows 7, the fix is.... you must download it again. Seriously. A friend of mine spent hours on the phone and was told, finally,  this was happening all the time with downloads, but the second download and key works, and did work for him, just fine.

I'm sticking with XP until more bugs are worked out.

on topic, I work 3rd, so I'll have limited game time until the weekend, then I'm commited to a road trip to see family.  The weekend after is a baby shower, but I'll be getting some time in when I can spare the sleep.

I was very happy looking at my schedule in the past few weeks: my last midterm is tuesday morning. first time i preorder, and this happens

in regards to the above post, i have not been in any extended contact with microsoft yet, but rest assured, that was my idea too: i have three seperate homemade installation cds(bought the student edition from digital river), from different sources, and have attempted install 6 or 7 times now. at first it seemed i got further and further every time, but now i am just stuck.

The prospectus on my thesis needs to be done by Thursday of this week. Depending on how much effort it takes to compile that from what I have now it could be a very long wait. Oh, and then out of town friday into saturday. so it could be a very long, very upsetting wait.

I've quit my job and am in the middle of divorcing my wife so that I can have more time to play. Someone suggested I put my children up for adoption but to be completely honest, I don't pay that much attention to them anyway. Woot! November 3rd!

My copy of DA shipped today. The unfortunate thing? The computer I'm building so that I can play it is still missing a video card, that won't be shipping out until later this week. I'm...less than pleased.

yes video card. I've got a 5850 on backorder, havent a clue when that will be in stock/ship.
Im also fairly certain that my current card is the reason my windows 7 wont complete installation.

If you are having problems installing Windows 7 it's because you are doing it wrong.

DigitalRiver is supposedly working on the problem. It was something on their end it seems.

Dude, learn to keep up with the news before being a dick. The DigitalRiver version of Win7 has problems installing, its a well known issue.

ATI and the GPU manufacturer TSMC are having trouble keeping up with demand as the yields on the chips are only 40%. If you're not concerned about brand I'd suggest that you just keep looking around on different sites instead of relying on a backorder, especially if you ordered through Amazon.

WORK! I'd love nothing more than to rock up at the doors of my local EB right on opening time, hope they still have a collector's edition I can get (I pre-ordered too late, unfortunately), then spend the entire day playing. But no, I have to sit in front of my PC for 8.5 hours before I can get home and look at that computer for 6 hours.

I plan on beating this game at least twice before attempting an update.



That said, I might have Windows 7 sometime in 2015.

Interestingly enough, I'm waiting on a 5850 as well.  I'm assured that it will be in stock this week, and get out to me, however.

It's great because I have two Biology exams on Tuesday. I've preloaded DA:O on Steam and with luck, I can get home after the second exam and fire it up.



Sadly I have a scholarship application due Friday, which I'm unlikely to finish by Tuesday. So I'll have to figure out how to set the game aside somehow.

I have to wait until thurs. 5/11 (6pm - 9pm) for my DA:O collector's edition to arrive because too many people pre-order on-line shop with free delivery.
