I think it was the back of the neck? (I know, wtf)
Now, if he did it like Zaeed said (under the head plate), that would have been more reasonable. But then again, Zaeed is in a completely different league of badass.
Sorry, he'd be much more badass if he got it done and was actually able to save some of his squad. Right now, Zaeed is a selfish idiot. I'd much rather follow Garrus than Zaeed, and Garrus isn't completely certain of himself if Shepard can change his point of view.

Agreed, no interest at all, seems very bland and boring like they felt they had to put some anime-esque ninja in the series just to steal customers from other games etc. to bring in even more people who quite frankly couldn't care one bit about the franchise as it was. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to kill him dead then.

I like him because he's more or less what TIM hoped Shep would become. A mindless extension of TIM's personal or professional agenda. Vader to TIM's Emperor.
NOOOO... Kai Leng it's like Count Dooku... it's his puppet until he gets his hands on the real prize; Darth Vader (Shep)
And well, about the thread question.. Sure, he has N7 training, a lot of determination and a all-mighty-super-cereal-for-champions... As long as he pees before the battle, he is a threat to Shepard.

That's pretty much how I feel. I hope his dialogue won't be as bad as i'm imagining it. And his glasses...things look stupid as hell. It only works for for Adam Jensen, he should stop trying.

You never know, they may yet make him cool and believable in ME3. It depends how they do it. For example, "an unethical scinetific experiment to improve human potential" is a trope that's beaten to death as well, but they've managed to salvage it somehow (or at least play semi-believably) with Jack. Mass Effect has always been not all about what is written, but how.Nizzemancer wrote...

"Cyber-ninja", just because he's asian? He's an assassin, who coincidentally is cyborgized because that's how Cerberus rolls. As much of a "ninja" as Thane is.deadshame wrote...

Yeah, because cybernetic eye enhancements/replacements resembling glasses is totally an Adam Jensen, coincidentally the-latest-big-hit-in-cyberpunk-gaming-only thing (copyright 2011).deadshame wrote...

...uncanny. Maybe Gillian reusing Jack storyline is the reason why she got the toothbrush, because people would just notice it's basically telling the same backstory twice?

no, hes a cyber-ninja because he sneaks around using a sword in the year 2186. It's stupid in the mass effect universe, i'm sorry if you think its cool. Once again, get the cyber-ninjaing out of my game.
And that dude looks like hes from an anime, I dont' like anime so I don't follow it. But what is that guy from? What I was saying is that Kai Leng does not pull it off and like I said, should stop trying.

Oh, I know this. But a simple knife would do just fine, he doesn't need a big flashy sword does he? But hey, he might cool, who knows? Like someone else said, it seems more like he's just there to try to draw players of other games in.
Besides, Thane was a badass without a sword. Don't we have too many sneaky badasses already?!

Thanks for the input, Mr. Expert on Year 2186. In an universe where a species exists that uses headbutting as effective combat moves and is universally feared, a steel-cutting sword with cybernetically-enhanced muscles (not even being his only mode of attack) sure seems useless. Brb, the team is being eviscerated by Phantoms, guess that tactics kind of works?deadshame wrote...

You don't need to feel sorry, I haven't made my mind up on Kai Leng himself yet (as I haven't played the game he's in). I'm just willing to give BW writers a chance and not scratch the character off from the get go, like I did once with Jack ("oh they're just pandering to the T&A crowd with a generic "experiment" story thrown in, great").
Oh, and the guy is from Ghost in the Shell, a classic of cyberpunk genre. No pressure there, of course.
A simple knife would do just fine, only with just half as much reach and way less force, so not exactly as fine.deadshame wrote...

Every character archetype could be said to be "just there to try and draw player type XYZ in". If you're feeling that strongly against it, whatever doesn't float your boat, but it's just an opinion. An asian cyborg with a sword doesn't make any less sense in-universe than a blue jedi crusader does. You're fine with archetype X, don't like archetype Y, OK. But just tastes don't make it "wrong" to put it in the game. There's a precedence for assassination, cybernetics, Cerberus, melee combat and ethnical diversity in Mass Effect so far, it's not out of place, regardless of how much you'd like to paint it so.
We haven't had a single sneaky badass antagonist so far (and no "antagonist" per se in ME2 not counting TIM, since meetings with Harby weren't exactly fruitful) so I'll go with "no".Besides, Thane was a badass without a sword. Don't we have too many sneaky badasses already?!

Ouch, I must have hurt your feelings, sorry dude. I'm sorry I think Kai Leng is stupid as a character. I still have a little hope for him being remotely cool. I didn't think about the sneaky badass antagonist thing though, that might be cool. Or it could be horrible. I'll wait til I see it. And stop bringing him being asian up, that has nothing to do with what i've said about the cyber-ninja, stop making it sound like I did.
But seriously, whats that guy in the picture from?
