It's impossible to say for certain but do you see it as a possible candidate?

What other games do you think might challenge Mass Effect 3 for such a prestigious honor.  Honestly, other than Mass Effect 3 I don't think 2012 is going to a be a very big year for gaming.

Sure the Wii-U is coming out but who cares about that crap.  There have been plenty of decent games released this year and the Playstation Vita is pretty cool but other than that Mass Effect 3 is all I seem to be anticipating.

I can easily see it coming down to ME3 and Diablo 3 as the front-runners. ME3 will probably take home Xbox 360 (and possibly some PS3) GOTY on a lot of sites and magazines, D3 an obvious choice for PC GOTY. The overall, probably D3 but you never know.

Probably a candidate. THE GoTY, I don't know.
Bioshock: Infinite will challenge it, if all goes well.

Other than that, I agree with 2012 not being very good when it comes to games, at least for me.

 People seem to be confused as to what "Game of the Year" is.

There isnt one game of the year.

Thousands of random people and hundreds of companies will give awards to games calling it "Game of the year" for X category.

The DS series is far better.

For a movement based console, Kinect/Move are far better than Wii.

It will come down to Bioshock infinite, ME3, Maybe Diablo 3 if it comes out, and GTA5.

Being far more powerful than the Wii isn't good enough.  The Wii's hardware was dated even at launch in 2006.  I-phones are far more powerful than the Nintendo Wii.

Dunno.. Based on that demo no, but I'll know for sure when I've played it rather than just watched it.

Not coming until 2013. They need at least six months to promote the sucker. Besides, Max Payne 3 will be dropping in May. If they released GTA V in the same year, it would kill Rockstar's future DLC plans for MP3.

There has never been a game i've been so excited about and I honestly think it'll be the most fun I have with a game.

However, in terms of GoTY, chances are it won't win. It's out in March and by time the awards roll out 8 months will have gone past with many more releases. Undoubtedly ME3 will have been forgotten by most while a small few will be on their 20th playthrough. Hopefully it'll win but on the gap alone I can't see it happening.
