I'm pretty convinced, That Deception itself is satire/parody of the Mass effect novels

With how Kahlee and Anderson act
Kai goes from a professional to just all out insane
Gillian's autism going away -though you could argue she was showing signs of improvement once her system started recovering from the cerberus bs-
Hendel... being well ignored even in Death
Aria isn't Aria she is T'loak -no serious that's how the guy refers to Aria as-

Deception being Retgon isn't anything new... The Star wars EU has a couple of novels that were rendered moot or non-cannon to anything.


The question is, will ME3 still work of the premise that those who died are dead or just avoid the subject as not to ****** people off even more.

I am so glad I never read any of the novels now. I would have been REALLY irritated at the way Gillian was killed off if I had actually gotten invested in her character at all. As it is, the Kai Leng-cereal thing has permanently damaged him as a credible villain for me.

Deception is something that should be forgotten. They're trying to repair the damage, but it's already been done. Dietz (The writer of Deception) is practically a cereal killer. 

Every book he writes is a POS. The first (and last) time I read one of his books (Halo: The Flood) I seriously stopped reading it midway and threw it out of my house.

That rage comic in great, and I usually don't like those much! It's also sadly accurate.
When I started the "book" and read that Gillian grew out of her autism like some teenage phase, I knew I was in for a tough ride...

All Deception is is a means to kill off all the main characters save Sanders and Anderson. Now they have an excuse not to have any of them in ME3. Leng Should have died too and been replaced by a new Grayson super husk-type in ME3.
