New interview at Penny Arcade can be read here.  Not too much to chew on, but an interesting tidbit from Ray Muzyka:
“The possibility space, that’s a term that I heard Will Wright say
about ten years ago, and it really struck me,” Muzyka continued,
pointing out that most Bioware properties could work as MMOs. “When you
deliver a game, and you deliver it for a player, you have to capture
what they think is the possibility space. You need to let them do
everything they think they should do, and you can’t block them from
doing anything they think they should be able to do. You have to nail
all the features and content that should be in that possibility space.“
He paused for a moment.

Mass Effect is a big possibility space.”

In other words, it sounds like they learned their lesson from SWTOR, and if there ever is a Mass Effect MMO, they'll do things differently.  Personally, I'm tired of MMOs.  Truly.  I'd like to see BioWare continue to expand the ME universe with other single-player titles set in different periods of the story.  Hoping they avoid taking Mass Effect that direction.

It wouldnt be an mmorpg cause it would derectly compete with swtor, maybe an mmofps like TITAN (blizzard's "secret" mmo), i wouldnt play it but it dosent mean it would be bad...

I just want Mass Effect to continue. If it means that the next iteration is an MMO then so be it, i'll play it either way. The universe they have created has too much potential and depth to just end.

I'd be happy with a ME game like SW: KotOR

If there were anything that could bring me back to MMOs, it would be Mass Effect.

Please **** no. No more MMO's. They sponge resources and people we could use to created 2-3 new unique IPs.

Oh noes, another game I won't play.
I simply don't have time to play MMOs, the SWTOR beta was an exception as my leg was broken so I couldn't do anything else but sitting at my home, but... no, no, I won't intentionally break my legs again.

Mass Effect should never be a MMO.

1. It alienates console fans.
2. Not everyone wants to waste their lives level grinding.
3. I refuse to pay a monthly fee to play ONE game.

I'd prefer a "SMO" (Small Multiplayer Online), and singleplayer hybrid. Sort of more in the direction that ME3 has started.

The multiplayer has deeper and more well defined characters/story/plot - maybe 4 characters maximum in any one story, and all that ties into the singleplayer with one well defined character (Shepard).

So basically they expand on the coop segment and make it as deep as the singleplayer is now (complicated but not impossible).

I love MMOs, but we just don't need more. Wait ten years for any sort of ME online game.*

*even then I'd rather not.

Unless they can make an MMO on the console, then I don't think Bioware would take the series there as most of the sales come from console.

Unless the next Xbox and PS have the capability to power an MMO?

You can already play DCUO on the PS3, right?

1. I don't care.
2. Clearly you haven't played Old Republic. There is no grind which leads to people complaining how fast it was.
3. Guild Wars is buy to play. You know like a regular game.

If a Mass Effect mmo turned out to be anything like Star Wars the Old Republic then I wouldn't care. Old Republic is the same old generic MMO and the "story" is no better than LotrO or WoW. I don't hate TOR so don't even say that but I did expect something better. Voice acting and dialogue doesn't make an MMO better frankly the endgame, crafting, pvp and pve content has clearly suffered.

I think games are moving toward more interactivity and more online elements. So I would hope if that moves into a future ME series, "MMO" would be a loose term. If it's a click and pick ability or auto-fire type game with a "roll" mechanic on whether the shot hits and all that, I don't want it. If it's a 3rd person shooter and maybe expands on the multiplayer from ME3, I could tolerate it. Maybe similar to ME3 (and SWTOR did this already) with companions but you create your own unique character from one of the six classes. But maybe they open the world up a bit and get missions from the hub worlds, etc.

Essentially an ME game in current format but with a unique protagonist rather than a single named one. You could group up or take a companion with you to do missions, etc. Still give choices and have a roll system for who gets to say what when grouped (like SWTOR) This is the ONLY way I'd ever play an MMO in this format. I also want to stress that it would have to be on the next-gen of consoles for me to play it. I love ME and would probably try any game they put out in that universe but it wouldn't have the staying power for me that a 3PS console ME has.

Also, a squad based 3PS with 4-player co-op campaign would be pretty fun based off my enjoyment of the MP co-op in ME3. That's just my opinion. I'd also love to see a whole new trilogy of SP games with another new protagonist. I don't care much. I'm easy to please. I just want more quality ME games after this.

A Turn-Based Tactical game. That's what I would love to see.
Like good ol' Terror From the Deep.

No, I'd rather never have another Mass Effect title come out after ME3, than have it turned into an MMO.

1. Many more people do so you lose.
2. Time investment is a requirement for any MMO. Most people have lives.
3. Never heard of it.
4. The only MMO I ever invested in is Diablo 2. I have a life now though so Idon't have time to invest in Diablo 3.

I wouldn't have anything against an ME MMO, as long as it doesn't cost monthly like SWToR. -_-
