Hello there guys.
As everyone on this forum, ive been looking forward to playing ME3 for years, since I finished the game for the first time in 2010 (have completed it 5 times in total).
After knowing that ME3 wouldnt be sold via steam (which is a shame, imho) I sent EA Support an email to ask if I would be able to import my saves from my steam copy to an origin copy.
Thi is the answer I received:
Hello Mateus,
Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.
I appreciate your interest in Mass Effect series. Please allow me to share that game data can’t be transferred from steam version to Origin version of the game. I am apologetic for the inconvenience and understand what this means to you.
As a token of gratitude, please allow me to offer you this Discount Code (**************) that should allow you a 15% Discount on Origin. The code can be redeemed at: http://store.origin.com and is valid till (Last day of the Calendar month) on released games (except Pre-orders and new releases).
Electronic Arts values your affiliation and looks forward to hear from you. Also, in case of any help, please get in touch with us anytime. Alternatively, please visit our extensive knowledgebase online: http://help.ea.com/
Have a nice day.
Best Regards,
Pratik
Electronic Arts – World Wide Customer ExperienceSo, now I got really confused. Coult the guy be mistaken. I wont be able to get all the my saves from ME2 to ME3 just because I bought it on steam?

The steam saves are in your documents folder... There is nothing special about it. You will be able to import them just fine, I'm sure.
Grats on the free 15% discount code lol... I think the rep misunderstood your intention. If you bought it on steam, you cannot see other people playing the origin version (is there one). Likewise, playing me 3, you will only see friends playing origin games.
It's the same game, and the imports will work just fine... It's just different game networks.

Yep so it'll be located in local disk C>users>(you're pc name)>my documents>my games or bioware>masseffect 2>biogame>saves
You can also specify masseffect 2 save game file via the masseffect config application that would normally located in the install directory or through the game launcher. I don't see why it would be any different when the full game is out.
Itll be fine

Demo won't allow it, and no I don't have steam me2 but I had to import mass effect 1 save, and did this manually because me2 couldn't find it automatically, i always access my saves for various steam games manually so I can back up or share my files.
You'll definatley be able to manually specify a a save game from me 2 if me 3 can't find it by itself.
I'm in the same boat as you otherwise .
All will be good , the ea guy is a noob and I'm going to email them to see if I can get a voucher lol

The steam version bypasses the me1/2 launcher. To get the me1/2 launcher he mentioned, from your steam library, right click the game and press the option for the launcher.
The me3 demo is a bare bones version of the game. It doesn't have the Import utility.
