Actually I have a new theory. Maybe it's like this: the extra damage of your ammo have to be able to take all of the leftover barrier out. Then your gun can do full damage against health.

And it's probably ammo-type dependent. Can't destroy phantom's leftover barrier with disruptor I even with Widow X (plus damage mod).  Or maybe 20% of Widow X can't destory the leftover barrier.  Maybe need to experiment with claymore.

WOW.  Widow X is literally less than one point off.  I ran some numbers, and if my calculation is correct, disruptor ammo I on Widow X is 1 point of barrier damage shy from completely depleting all leftover barrier (after max energy drain).  Need to experiment with calymore, then.

It depends on your playstyle.  Carni's damage is 241% of that of Phalanx's, though.  The bar is really deceptive. 

Phalanx does have less recoil when you zoom in.  So it's really quick-fast shots or slow-heavy shots.  But you get Phalanx X much earlier than Carni X, so I guess that's another plus for Phal.

Disruptor II doesn't add shield/barrier damage, just stun chance (according to the ME3 powers thread in the no-spoiler forum).  So yeah.

That's pretty impressive man. I wouldn't have believed it was possible a few days ago but then I started playing gold more frequently and there are some amazing players out there.

Credits are irrelevant when you have Widow X And I was Salarian. Obviously I did it for the challenge, not for farming credits haha

Read description for sign posts and time intervals where the different waves start. I've left it long intentionally because I thought it was pretty interesting to see the whole thing. You'll notice around minute 38 that the video skips for 1 second - that's because the file size became too large and DxTory decided to start another file so I had to pause recording for a second.

There are a few near death experiences most notably towards end of wave 9 and onwards.

I die twice in the first 5 minutes so left without medigel for the rest of the video. My game is unmodded otherwise I wouldn't consider it an achievement, you can see the gameplay is the same as in the other videos on my channel.

I recommend listening to your favourite music while watching

That was epic! I think the only class that could pull this off is the Salarian Infiltrator. The ability to cloak, drop shields, and snipe is a deadly combo. Especially with a Widow X. Congrats!

I'm releveling a character to try this build with a Mantis X and warp ammo to see test the mechanics. I'd also like to test this with other X versions of gold guns; carnifex x and claymore x.

I think the Widow X sniper build is quite effective, particularly soloing. I still, however, have problems drawing comparisons without seeing how effective other guns would be with warp ammo combos on Gold; as per Royard's comments.

Assuming an equally specced mantis build can do the same thing with warp ammo, then I have to say what makes this so overpowering is the combination of build + ammo type.

The only advantage widow has if a mantis or carnifex can do the same thing, specced equally with X upgrades and warp ammo is the Anti-Materiel Factors; that utility may make gold soloing builds more effective than players using less specialized builds.

Wow you got my respect. Tho i wonder how you got the Widow X. Im Rank 117 and have the Widow I...

But im unlucky with unlocks anyways, got the Asari Adept at Rank 105 but at least i got my beloved Salarian infiltrator very early. hes my favorite char. Im using a Viper X tho and even on Gold it still has enough Stopping Power to kill fast enough.

As an addendum, I watched the video and noted your original screenshot. Your video is 42:46 in length, and your screenshot is for a length of time of 64:34. Some people raised criticisms of the fact that this is on PC, .ini files can be modded - etc, and without 22 mins of the video, including the loadup, it's going to give people some ammunition.

I'm not accusing you of anything, because from watching your sniping mechanisms and reading your posts, you know how to play; very well. You remind me of competitive snipers I've played against or watched videos of (the lineups + quick scopes).

I think that you should redo this with a full length video in the event people challenge you on this, because it would be easy for people to make claims based on you having a Widow X (when very few if any people have this), the fact that this video could be duped by a skilled player who tweaked their .ini and who had companions in the game solo to res the player until a late wave, and for aid in hacking waves.

You get one extra shot for each upgrade AND there is a mod that increases your ammo by 90% I think (not completely sure here).
