Does it move away from the isometrics and make the character models more like Dragon Age II? If it would, it would be a good chance to try and play it this time.
Oh god no.
If it's just an HD remastered release I think that would make everyone happy.

I understand what you're saying, but I have to say I love the Infinity Engine games. In fact, despite the newer games I purchased over the last year, in that same time span I still did 7 runs through IWD1, 1 through IWD2, 4 through BG1, and one through BG2. They never get old or tired to me.
I recentrly re-palyed all those games. They are still great.
And your record is weak. I have at least 12 playtroughs of BG2 and 6 playtroughts of BG1.
I'm more than willing to concede that much of the appeal is nostalgia though. I'm old and grew up playing the AD&D rules, so even though they're not as 'refined' and often don't make much practical sense, I still like them best of all the D&D rule sets.
Elegance in simplicity. While there are some things I always found could use fixing in D&D, the new additions often don't feel like they do it right. But they are all similar enough..

Shadowy Figure- Raise Dead : Infinity Engine
For years, I clung to the memory of it. Then the memory of the memory.
And then... it returned. Better than it was before.
Pore over the tapestries and works of art hanging from our walls if you
wish, Child of Bhaal... perhaps you will find a clue. But patience,
ah... patience would reveal it all.

Quality made 3D models that blend well with BG2 background would be swell.
BG2 graphics are swell, but it would be nice to see what one has equipped at a glance.

Yup they dont need to change background a bit, not in any İnfinity Engine game.
They can add some "living" enviroments tough, like moving rivers, trees dancing with the wind maybe some cloud shadows.
Playing Ice Wind Dale 2 nowadays, İce Temple, Fell Wood and Dragons Eye are all much more artistic than most of nowadays games.

Well if the game was remastered I would like to see the 2D backgrounds well remastered for modern resolution Beamdog did a great job with the remastered version of MDK2 so who knows?

This is idd pretty cool stuff! Strangely this exites me more than button-awesome connection.
So hum, tapestries and works of art include BG I NPCs,BG I logo and BG I's theme music..
I really, really hope this is something more ambitious than mere re-re-rere-release for new platform. (Steam, iDerp2000)

We know for sure it isn't a Steam version based on a developer quote. Sadly that doesn't rule out a phone port.

Didn't someone just port Bard's Tale to iOS? Probably the same thing.
That was InXile. Beamdog is responsible for this Baldur's Gate something.

That line seems to support the remaster version theory.

Dunno, im such a slowpoke nowadays... After MDKs i want Sacrifice and Citizen Kabuto HD remake. I demand that!
@Morroian
I dont think its BG3 related, that site has first Baldur's Gate all over, portraits of BG1s and its theme. But we must wait and see...
And i grow impatient already...

Yeah here's hoping you are right! It could also mean powers that be behind this have decided BG I turns better than it was before since it is now possible to move character about by poking the screen with your finger.
But yeah a proper remaster would be pretty awesome to be sure.
