Every time I see a post about someone complaining about the unlock system, I feel like crying.

Read the stickied topics, particularly the one ABOUT THE UNLOCK SYSTEM.

Maybe you don't get what this is about.

My main grip against this system is the fact that it random generates what you get. It doesn't matter if in the full game there will be tons of itens to get, or if you can promote a character and start all over again. All this doesn't change the fact that YOU CAN GET REPEATED CARDS on the SAME PACK, it's a flaw on this system and it's bound to happen on the final game. It may be rare at the beggining, but after you max out the basic stuff, it will start to happen with more frequency. I would ratter grind 1mil credtis for something that I want, than have to struggle with a flawed system that doubles the chance to get what I don't want...

Maybe you don't get what I'm talking about. There's only two packs IN THE DEMO. If you actually READ THE POSTS BY THE DEVS, you'd know that there will be higher tier packs with better odds of getting what you need.

It doesn't change the fact that:

I believe someone explained it as it
falls to the "backup pile" which contains only character unlocks. Pull a
Widow that you already have maxed, for example, and it'll toss out the
Widow and draw from the backup pile, giving you a character card
instead
. Obviously, some characters are more common than others, but it
does increase the chances of getting a gold character since all the
weapons and mods are eliminated from the backup pile.

And this, will lead to the situation that made me open this topic.

Well, once again then:

with a vet pack you are guaranteed one silver or higher card. Game randomizes - you get a silver card. But you have all your silver unlocks, so it gets downgraded - to a blue card. You won't get higher chances on gold unlocks just because you already unlocked all your silver stuff.

I don't think that's quite what is happening.  Otherwise this would start happening as soon as you maxed one weapon.  For instance, I maxed out my Mattock a long time ago, but this never happened to me until I got every silver weapon maxed yesterday.  So if it selected say a Mattock, but you already had that maxed, it would select another silver weapon.  Once you have all the silver guns maxed, though, there's nothing else it can give you, since it does not change the odds of getting a gold card.

EDIT: I mean that it won't automatically default to the character cards just because it drew a weapon you already had maxed.  It only seems to happen when all the silver guns are maxed.
