I'm sorry for the sob story readers are about to endure, but I don't know where else to turn.Image IPB

So, I ordered my collector's edition of Mass Effect 3 on June 7, 2011 and now, seeing as the release is about a week away, I figured I'd check and make sure everything is in order (as I've had problems with preordering games from Amazon in the past). After digging into last years orders and finding the one for my ME3CE I immediately noticed that the order details said "DVD-ROM" for the platform, when I'd stake..... A lot of money I guess, that I ordered the xbox 360 version. So I called Amazon customer service and asked what platform my order was recorded for. After some digging, the representative said that I did indeed have the 360 version ordered. I asked that I could get an email with the confirmation information, she said yes, case closed right? WRONG. I check my email and open the confirmation message, "I searched our website for you and found this item--I hope it's what you're looking for:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0050SZES0 I found that this item is for X'box 360." Upon clicking the link, I was notified on the page on the top "You have ordered this item on June 7, 2011 Edition: Collectors Edition - Platform:PC. So it basically said the opposite of what the rep had assured me, but judging from the messege she sent me, she may of been confused about what my original inquiry had in fact been. I called Amazon customer service again. After about thirty minutes of explaining my situation to another rep and finally a supervisor, I basically had my fears confirmed. It appears that Amazon has record of me purchasing the PC version, and they can't do anything about it (The CE's on all platforms being sold out) except refund and let me order the regular edition at a discounted price. I decided to keep the CE PC version I "originally" ordered. So now I have the PC CE I wont be able to use, just so I can have the out of game content I was promised.

So before doing things I really don't want to do (like Selling the game copy and in game codes on ebay or something) I thought maybe 1 of 2 things I could do

1. BEG on my KNEES that maybe Bioware could swap out the PC game and codes for a loyal fan and bestow him the mercy of 360 version of these things and maybe a firm disciplining. ( I would accept any shipping or medical fees associated with punishment for my apparent mistake)

I am aware of how doubtful the above option is, and completely understand if Bioware is unable to throw around product on whims, no matter how loyal the fan ( I'm preeeetty loyal by the way *wink*) and so the other option

2. Hopefully find someone else in a similar predicament and/or willing to trade 360 game and codes for PC ones. Unfortunately I don't know where to post such a request or if its even appropriate at all!

Closing Statement: ANY advice from a moderator would be appreciated extensively, and any information about where I live/can ship etc IM ready to give. This is NOT a scam and have no problem proving that in any way possible, im just an exhausted and terrified fan, who messed up. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR ANY HELP!

You could get a refund and buy it somewhere else. (i.e. other country)

I would advise continuing to pester Amazon. Yes, they can make some pretty bizzare mistakes....but I had a similar situation with another game & after poking at them repeatedly the problem was fixed.
Be polite, firm & consistant~I'll bet they clear it up.

@the satirist
I wasn't aware ANY copies of the CE could still be bought at any resonable price, and I'd like to have the out of game content of my original purchased. I was under the impression that the Lithographs for example are one-of-a-kind/numbered, and considering my early purchase, I was expecting to get a low one. But if all else fails, i'll resort to buying the items I couldn't get separtely (at outlandish prices most likely) ie the exclusive wepons, costumes, an actual ME3 360 disc etc

@1183rd Geth

I'd have no problem doing this but I also understand that there is absolutly NOTHING they can do. If they could of, they would have swaped versions for me in a second, but all CE versions they have are 100% accounted for, me getting a 360 one means someone else canceling their order period. There are X360 CE copies on EBay for around $125 and up which is insane, but it's an option if yer desperate enough and have no other choices.

Amazon might be able to do something, so as suggested above, call back, be firm but polite, and a little prayer might not hurt either.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies all and I am gonna resort to the ebay shuffle if I exhaust all other avenues; as it would be in my and my trading partners best financial intrest if we could come to a deal as in my second option in the OP, but im not gonna kid myself in how much of a longshot finding someone else is. Thats why if anyone knows (mods especially) where it would be appropriate to post such a request on this site or others, it'd be most appreciated.

Sorry, but this is not a PC Tech Support issue.

End of line.
