I don't mind it at all, since it's a rpg but for the kids that play it, its tame enough. At least ME2 was. Glad my youngest didn't see ME1 romance scene. They should put a parental access key for the people(player) that wish have more graphic scene(not a porno I mean) & the yougster from seeing it.

There is a way to skip it press start or X and you go straight to the bridge and they're arguing over landing zones.

It's always going to be worse than my imagination, so they really don't need to bother with nude scenes for me.

Well romances and sex are a part of the world (the real one) and the ability to have relationships is a "good" way to add depth and realism in games while having a mechanism to increase attachment and relatability to a character. So I wont say that it is a bad addition even though I personally don't usually worry about it. In fact what I found best about it in the case of ME was simply learning a bit more about the given species (Asari single gender using others to randomize DNA, Quarian ability to come out of the suit but the need for a lot of meds/herbs/precautions).

As long as they don't turn it into porn then i'm completely fine with it. We aren't forced into romances and there is a way to skip the scene if it does make you uncomfortable.

As long as they use it carefully and not just to attract people for that reason alone. I loved the way ME1 handled Liaras love scene. There were no undergarments breaking the immersion but they ever really showed anything. It was a huge tease. I think the scene itself showed a lot of emotion as well. Im in favor of more scenes like that then all out nudity really.Image IPB

I like the romances, and even the 'sex' scenes....Personally, I thought they were fairly well done in both ME1 and ME2. The scenes in 2 really made a lot more sense when I found some info on the web about why some took place the way they did....Miranda NOT having sex in the Captain's quarters for instance. Once I read up on why that scene took place in the engine room, and read some more about what was going through BioWare's "mind" when they created the character...it really made the whole romancing of Miranda much more interesting.

But I'm fine with how the romance scenes have appeared. I don't need to see a pixel booby in order to appreciate the scene. Plus there are PLENTY of texmods out there if you really need to have your LI naked....I'd honestly prefer to have BioWare keep doing things the way they do, BUT keep allowing modders do some of the things we might like to have for our game later.

As for this I have to say this should not be a problem. Mass Effect is rated MATURE for a reason. The developers should not limit themselves because of younger audiences. If a parent or guardian choices to let a younger person play they should be aware of the gaming content. Honestly this is like saying dont put blood or drugs in a horror movie cause a kid might accidentally see it. Sorry if I sound condescending, that is not my attention im just trying to make a point.

I like the relationships but I don't really need to see extended humping scenes.

The scenes from ME 1 & ME2 were just fine by me, it's the right balance IMO.

But the game is rated M or a reason, kids aren't supposed to play it.

I really don't get it. Death, killing, blood, violence, deformed husks etc are fine and completely regular in games, but nudity and sex scenes...? Oh god, we have to close our eyes! :P I think I prefer beautiful human (or alien :P) bodies and intimate scenes between two people in love, than violence and swearing...

And yes, sex scenes in ME were just fine. I really like them.

I just remind you - the game is rated M so personally I'd like to see more mature content ;)

pretty sure you do have sex with Garrus. Mordin talks to you about watching vids to make it "work" with comfortable positioning etc =P

The Witcher 2, the scenes with Triss are well done and fit into the flow of the game well. Bioware could pull sex of in any of their games as long as it was done well and rational people wouldn't have a problem with it. But I believe negative publicity scares most devs and producers off. CD Project Red didn't cop much flack because of the fact they aren't as well known as EA/Bioware I suppose, but they did't receive almost any negativity from mainstream media.

If all you want is to ogle some naked chick with well-developed mammaries, you know you can do that on the Internet for free, right? Hell, if it's the 3D computer-generated animation and unrealistic bouncing physics that do it for you, the Internet can even do that for you. For free.

Only interested if it's done tastefully. ME1 had the right idea there, but unfortunately BioWare backed off after the Faux News debacle. And so we got the rather cringe-worthy underwear-sex of DA:O, ME2 and DA2. I dunno, asides from the sillyness of the controls, Heavy Rain had a tasteful sex scene. Would love to see BioWare try to put some actual maturity back into that part of their game instead of just gratuitous spandex outfits.

what's your point exactly?

"ha ha ha, I like to shoot things in my gaimz. No seks. Because when I want secks I go to my gf (implying the existance of one as a defense mechanism) or I look up some pr0n on the interweb"

I LOVE SEXUAL THEMES IN VIDEOGAMES, MOVIES, BOOKS, TV SERIES ETC. No it doesn't mean I'm an ugly mofo living in a basement. No it doesn't mean I'm a pervert. It means I'm not ****ing scared of my sexuality because it's as natural as taking a dump.

Jesus.

If it's classy-sensual, I'm all for it. That said, I think Liara's romance scene in ME1 was well done.

This.

I'm fine with nudity in the game so long as the sex scenes have a cinematic quality, and it isn't gratuitous. So in short, so long as it is like Mass Effect 1's sex scenes.

The ironic thing about the controversy surrounding the nudity in Mass Effect 1, was that the lingering camera angles on the clothed backsides of the Asari Consort and Miranda were far more gratuitous and tasteless than the nudity in the sex scenes.

Oh, and a little nudity in the sex scenes makes much more sense than clothed dry humping. ME1's sex scenes > ME2's sex scenes

+1.

Its probably one of the hardest things to do well by judging from what the gaming industry has put out so far.
Its so easely becomes stereotypical or cheesy. It both requires exellent writing, direction, voice acting and guts to make it both serious and sexy.

But I guess what is concidered "gratuitous" is pretty individual and culture determined.  For me, nudity or portrayed sexuality,  has not much too do with something being gratuitous or not. That is all about the context and how it is done.

If done tastefull i'm all up for it.
Don't need full on screwing or anything just some tastefull scene like the ones in ME2 only with a bit more skin like ME1.
don't need to see private parts but them having sex with all their clothes on is just wrong.
