And if it doesn't her species gets exterminated.....
They're for sure dead if they follow the other two admirals. It is the best alternative suggested that I've seen for Quarian prosperity. The Geth are quite protective of themselves and don't trust the Quarians, so I doubt peace on Rannoch or with the Quarians will ever happen. You will have a Rael or Xen somewhere down the road provoke the Geth again and the Quarians will be wiped out again. You could try and attack them now and be decimated.
Surely the peace doesn't need to hold together very long - just long enough for the Quarians to take Rannoch peacefully and the Geth to leave. At that point they can settle back into a vaguely Cold War state and who knows maybe the horse will sing? After all Shepard can get the Geth and Quarian representatives to work together short term so it proves co-operation is possible - although difficult so ignoring each other once the Geth leave former Quarian space shouldn't be that difficult.
Trying to re write them and failing will convince the Geth that they were wrong to attempt co-existence and cause them to finish the job they started - and I don't think many would argue that the Geth lack the strength to finish the job. A direct attack is I agree suicidal though.....
@Saphra sure the Council only respects power. It also only fears power and such a flagrant violation of its laws by a species it already views as a second class species that results in said species obtaining significant power with the possibility for gaining significantly more military strength....
Can we say pre-emptive strike?
And that's probably not even the worst option - as soon as the Quarians prove it's possible every single major player in the galaxy is going to be trying to work out how they did it and duplicate it. Sooner or later, and given the priority it will get my bet is on sooner, some-one will crack it which point the Geth as a weapon are at best useless and at worst dangerously double edged.
This is deliberately ignoring any moral arguments about slavery and also any argument about whether the Geth could be permanently controlled and instead just focussing on the consequences of that decision.
