Holy smokes...I think you're right!

Would this be grounds for Bioware to get legal? He could have never agreed to the contest rules and therefore not have been eligible for the prizes in the first place. What I really want to know is, if this is true, how'd he get into the case?

Well folks, the de-evolution of the human race is complete. I'm utterly amazed this happened. I mean 400$??????? He could pre order from gamestop. Get (pre order bonus), and the copy for 65$.

If you have money to blow, why not?  People have spent much more for much less.

I'm kinda with this line of thought.  It sure doesn't affect you so why would you care what a person does with their copy or if a person decides to blow $400 for a copy early?

Uh, maybe because he's not supposed to do it, at least from what I can tell in the fine print of the contract he should have signed?

Maybe it bothers me that people sign s*** without reading it anymore because they're blind sheeple. *Shrug*

He obviously signed nothing and thus a court action would be impossible.

As long as he bought a $50 Collector Rifle code and a $2,500 ME1 Special Edition to go along with it.

Search "Mass Effect" on "Highest Price first". You will be surprised, or not.

I'm 100% sure that EA's lawyers could find a way to penalize him if they wanted to.

Doesn't change the fact he should have. It's the principle of the thing, not saying anything could be definitively proven.

I would pay 400$ if i could afford it to play me3 3-5 days early depending on delivery options, i wish people would stop saying that hes not a true fan of the series though, he went out there and got it didnt he? maybe hes thinking look ill sell this for 400$ and buy the game for 60 a week later, a fool and his money are easy parted. Besides, it was his property its not like hes renting it from bioware.

There's a large chance it's the same copy.

..wait....thats so wrong.

However - the crapped one was an xbox version....

I hope :?

Nope. The guy crapped on a PS3 version.

Image IPB Oh this...this is too funny....what are the odds?? Could it actually be?!

she has not even touched it or even opened a door on it since.

as a species we are inherently suicidal, paranoid and self destructive...and have bloody stupid notions about what others would like

$400 for ME3: Poop Edition. What a low blow.

In order to be eligible to get the games in the first place, he would have had to agree to the contest rules. BW said the SF launches were unrecoverable and asked participants not to go for them. This guy did. Meaning he didn't sign the NDA at the landing zone, which he should have in order to receive the game as a prize. Also, the fact that he sold one for the 360 previously in addition to this one for the PS3 shows he probably did get these from those unrecoverable balloons. If he went through the same process that everyone else went through to get their legitimate space copies, then it's ridiculous that he walked away with two of them.

Probably not 100% correct on this. Just my .02.

Frankly, I hope BW does something.

The fact that it actually sold took a couple minutes to sink in; I immediately started laughing my ass off. It is just so absurd and pathetic that it is funny.

Not sure, and you have to keep in mind that those prizes were officially "abandoned", considered unretrievable. So anyone that retrieved it may have rights to sell it, since the property (the actual copies of the game) was abandoned.

I have to admit, this is a very...special situation.

It's possible he gave away the other copies or sold them outside of eBay.
