Krogan Soldier Build

Should I spec rage and fortification for damage reduction or should I spec them for melee damage? or maybe a combo of both (ie, just take the melee after H.M. bonus and all else survivability).
Also, if I "purge" my fortification, I get 20 seconds of increased melee damage. If I reactivate fort. in that 20 seconds do I keep the melee damage bonus or no?

This is what I did (max everything but grenades) and I'm slightly disappointed in my choices. I'm still beastly but I kind of wish I maxed grenades instead of Carnage. Since I planned on using carnage a lot, I took the Fort upgrade that reduces cooldown instead of the one that increases DR. Kind of wish I had gone with grenades instead so I could take DR, heavy weapons, and not worry about cooldown.
Also I took the shield + health bonus for the last rage upgrade, and while it's epic having that much health, being able to get rage after only 2 melee kills probably would have been even more epic.
However when the full game comes out I might still build my Krogan Soldier like this again for power use, and use the Krogan Sentinal as my epic melee monster, since Tech Armor gives even more DR and it gives a bonus to melee damage WHILE it's active instead of after disabling it.

Grenades are too situational to be useful, your better off without them.
And don't see why you got the fort upgrade that reduces CD if you only use carnage. which you really don't need except for stunning enemies to line up a charge or knocking over guardian shields.
Also the 2 melee kills is better most of the time, as with most talent choices it's situational but on gold you'll be glad you'll on have to kill 2 to get your buff.

Nothing works better on silver or gold. Compared to other classes and races, bnoth Krogans and Soldier in general need serious work.
