I'm pretty much finished with all the bug fixing and feature adding. I added more support for crafting, fixed all the xp modification script issues (thanks to KevL, Pain, and Kaldor), added FXEs for last cutscene, and a teleport item to cutdown on needless back tracking.

The final release will be up on The Vault either Thursday night or Friday morning.Image IPB

I tested the xp scripts in MP today and everything seems to be working. It took me awhile to reconfigure my ports and server for MP (it has been awhile since I last ran a MP session and a different computer). So everything looks like a go for next weekend's release party MP sessions.

Since no one has given me their times of availability, I'm just going to pick the times and hope people can make it. Here are the times that I think will work for most in the Americas and Europe:

Friday March 9th 10-11PM EST (New York) Test run to make sure server is working and help others connect
Saturday March 10th 10AM EST (New York) 2hr session
Sunday March 11th 10AM EST (New York) 2hr session (I think this is the daylight savings change)

If anyone has experience running a session (as the server) and can make it friday to help us noobs out, that would be great. Plus, you can teach us how to do the chat, in/out of character stuff, etc.

Durning all three sessions, I will be in the NWN2 chat room to help resolve concerns, help players connect, and just in case the server crashes Image IPB

Player List (those who have said they can tentatively make it)
-nicethugbert (warlock or cleric or fighter)
-Arkalezth (ranger or bard)
-Shaun the Crazy One
-Artemis Absinthe (mage, wild one)
-Sirchet
-OridinaryMan21
-slowdive (probably just as DM, player if needed)

If we get more, we can run two simultaneous sessions if some one else can host as well.

....back to polishing for me...

I can't make it past 9pm EST on any day. So, can we move friday's time slot down to around 6pmish? I can play for hours on saturday and sunday.

How about teamspeak?

Do we make characters on your server or do we import ours?

Don't count much on me on Friday, specially at that hour. Saturday and Sunday seem more viable, but I can't really promise anything yet. For the record, I'm GMT +1.

I don't have experience running a session or as a DM myself, but I have played on PWs so I know how the chat works and all that. OOC (Out of character) dialogue is usually represented with ((text)) or text//.

Hmm, maybe we can get Pain or another server op to help?

Actual game play is only on Saturday and Sunday. Friday is only for those people who have nevered played online and may need help setting up their computer and ports. We won't be leaving the Party Creation Room on Friday. I'll just be there to help new people (and myself) get the hang of logging in, party communication in-character and out of character, etc. If you already know how to do this stuff then you don't need to be there Friday. If you need help getting setup for MP and you can't make it Friday, send me a PM and I'll try and setup a time that works for you to do a quick test.

I'm not sure what teamspeak is and I will allow you to bring in your own characters from your localvault.

Looking forward to the weekend...
So, should we organize our party classes before hand? I'll probably be the DM and if I need to be a player, I'm most comfortable as a tank or healer (I'm not the best at mage or rogue).

I never played co-op, only PW.

I guess we start at level 1? I'll play a warlock, cleric, or fighter.

Teamspeak is VOIP software. You can talk to people over your headset.  It's free.

Sounds great but I'm a bit confussed about the dates.  March 8th is a Thursday not a Friday, and I have work on Thursday and Friday.  Not sure rather it's the dates or days of the week that are off but count me in for Saturday March 10th.

I'd stick to writtten chat, plus I don't have a micro.

Sunday March 10th 10AM EST (New York) 2hr session (I think this is the daylight savings change)

That's two weeks later here, but I guess it may be different in other countries. Better to make sure of that in order to avoid confusion, or we may end logging at different hours.

About the class I'd play, I don't know, I was thinking ranger, or maybe bard, but it depends on the rest of the party. I generally dislike clerics/healers, though I can adapt myself to some specific role if missing and necessary for the module.

If Kaedrin's is allowed, I guess we should all use it, so we all have the same gaming experience.

DST starts on March 11 in the USA and March 25th in many other places. Just to keep it simple, the Sunday session will begin 23 actual hours after the Saturday began. So set your timersto 23 hours after starting the Saturday session ;-)
p.s. In Arizona, we don't have DST so Saturday will be at 8am and Sunday well be at 7 am for me.

I think we should decide if using Kaedrin pack or not, I don't have it, so, if we're goin to use it I have to download it.

The game was originally designed for standard classes, so if we're going use some custom content I think, it's best if we all have the same. I already prepared a clean Nwn folder, with just the IWD content and nothing more.

I usually play wizards, but I'm flexible, if something else is needed. IWD is quite hardcore, so, IMHO, a couple of tanks and a healer will be needed. Ranged weapons will also be useful, and, definetly, a rogue with disable device, since traps are everywhere.

As for the time, I'm in Rome (GMT+1), Arkalezth is in the same timezone, if I understand right, so here will be 5:00 PM on friday and 4:00 PM on saturday and sunday, I think we could delay it a bit if it's too early for you guys

about teamspeak, we italians are famous for our crappy bandwidth, so, I think I'll also stick to text chat :?

Ok, for "shared" installed content, I would propose Kaedrin's (was it compatible?) and Tony K's. I guess that visual stuff and the like (unless it's something everyone should see, like a custom face), or even things like rods of buffing or Warlock Buddy shouldn't require everyone to install them.

Since nobody has mentioned rogue yet, I can play that role (though there's also the option of someone multiclassing with a rogue level), or whatever is needed, except the healer if I can avoid it. So you can change my preferred class on the player list if you want, consider me some sort of wild card.

Does it have an OM map?

Don't we want to test the mod first without custom content so we can see the bugs?

mp sessions should be done with clean override folders, so as to rule out anything causing any bugs seen.

Ok, fair enough, though I've tested some module with Kaedrin's installed (Kamal's, for example). Thinking about it, Tony K's isn't necessary since the party won't be controlled by the AI. So, empty override it is then.

Let's go with clean overrides for these two sessions. I added Kaedrin's hooks to all the module "k_mod_*" scripts, but it hasn't been thoroughly tested...funny, over 140 downloads of the beta and no significant bug reports Image IPB

I'm amazing at fixing bugs Image IPB

<3 you slowdive.fan. I'm all in favor of going clean overrides for this session. I tend to prefer playing rouges and sorcerers in MP myself, but I open to just about anything. I'll be on Friday night as well since I've not done an MP in a very long time and want to make sure everything is set up right. Very much looking forward to it.

Pretty psyched about the Saturday and Sunday sessions. I´ll likely be playing a Ranger or Cleric.

This last release has gone through a massive debug, and a lot of new content has been added, so, probably, it's already been fixed.

As for the potions, temples, now, will provide, along with the regular shop, a custom ui for purchasing "healing spells". Anyway, when you step in the temple, Reverend Sister Calliana (the potion merchant in Kuldahar) tells you that they're running out of supplies, so, it's part of the plot, that potions aren't infinite.

Unfortunately NWN 2 doesn't take into account anything that was changed in a mod when using a saved game, so I didn't know if any of the issues I pointed out were fixed. We'll probably have to quit and start a new game using the final version of chapter 5 when we get to it because it wasn't released when we started playing. Hopefully by then the major bugs will have been sorted out.

It can, but it requires some planning ahead and they method may not have been discovered when slowdive started his work, so it may not be incorporated in your version. Not sure if it's in the current version.

Quick question.
Does this Module/Campaign include Heart of Winter and Trials of the Luremaster, or is it just the main Icewind Dale game ?

I finished adding the last feature on my list. You now have the ability to adjust the frequency of crafting item drops from a 2da configuration file that will be in an "iwd config" folder in your override. Also there is a 2da configuration file that allows you to adjust the amount of xp you get for kills and quest xp. This way it will be easier to make adjustment as you play through the campaign. If you feel that level progression is slightly off from the original then you can make some minor tweaks to the 2da.

I'll make a couple of quick tests and then package the whole thing up tomorrow morning. Expect to see the official release up tomorrow as planned (around noonish AZ time).

no HoW or TotL
