This is the bit I don't get.Mims wrote...
I think the fact that Shepard can't even die with the crew in one big explosion is somewhat heartbreaking. There really wasn't any need for the crew to get shipwrecked on some unknown planet.
I appreciate the need to lose the Relay network, and I appreciate that a completely happy sunshine and rainbows ending wouldn't fit the idea of a galactic war with insanely powerful machines.
I just don't understand why they felt the need to strand all these characters.
I still believe that a story is a journey, not a destination. I've had a blast getting to ME3, and from what I've read I'll have a blast getting to the end. The story building up to the endings has some great moments.
Its just a pity that it looks like it will end on a bit of a sour note. Bittersweet would've been good, and would've fit the theme, but the endings as they stand are just bleak.

What do LOTR and SW OT have in common? They ended on a hopeful note. ME3 resembles X-Men 3. We all know how well X3 was received by fans.
What pisses me off is their snide comments about how they possibly wanted to do more with the universe later. All that leaves are prequels with an entire new case or a far off future with an entire new cast. You might be able to do a Garrus C-Sec thing but knowing his fate, not sure how many people would be interested in that.

I'm sure a lot of people will enjoy playing it. But I wouldn't be surprised if it gets the fewest SP replays once word gets out that the only endings are 'bleak, bleaker, bleakest'.
actually endings go like this'dumb, dumest, really dumb'.

Everything stays the same, except that in the ending that Shepard survives you see his/her hand emerge from the rubble, and the camera pans up to show the Normandy coming in from overhead, searchlights sweeping across the wreckage.
The Relays are still gone, the galaxy has paid a tragic price to defeat the Reapers but in doing so life will survive, and the player gets some payoff - its implied that the Normandy will find Shepard and they will get to be with their crew and friends again.
A nice, bittersweet ending, imo.

This could work as a relatively happy ending that doesn't detract from the feel Bioware seems to have gone for:

From the looks of it, I'm going to thoroughly enjoy playing ME3, right up until the ending. It seems that the series is going to end on a sour note. I reckon it'll still be one of my favourite series, but if these are the real endings there is always going to be a little disappointment when I think back.

Am I seeing posts saying that storyline should be compromised for replay value...?
IDK man, do you want to re-play the trilogy knowing that, in the end, your Shep and crew are screwed, even more screwed, and royally screwed?

It'll probably be stuff like Overlord, which I rather enjoyed.

No matter what choices you've made, all that changes is how bleak it is. Your choices affect the outcomes of the endings (the fate of Earth for example) but no matter what you do, its going to be a fairly miserable end for Shepard and his crew.

OK, lets assume that I've never read this, right:lol:, ok stop laughing, so I'm playn'n through the game like Pro, with my import right, I'm doing every side quest there's and suddenly I get to the end and I get the Best Paragon ending and my reaction would've been>>>>

YES! Play ME3 first! Then you'll never have any motivation to play the first two games, because it's pointless as F**K! <_<
